Questions related to Citations
I am experiencing difficulty putting citations in author-year format. The Template says it uses natbib for author-year citations. However, when I use \citet{ID number}, It shows question mark in front of authors name.
Example:
Recently, a generalised neural network model was proposed by (author?)
[1] for solving partial differential equations
The error is: Package natbib Warning: Author undefined for citation`raissi_physics-informed_2019' on page 2 on input line 134.

abstract = {We introduce physics-informed neural networks – neural networks that are trained to solve supervised learning tasks while respecting any given laws of physics described by general nonlinear partial differential equations. In this work, we present our developments in the context of solving two main classes of problems: data-driven solution and data-driven discovery of partial differential equations. Depending on the nature and arrangement of the available data, we devise two distinct types of algorithms, namely continuous time and discrete time models. The first type of models forms a new family of data-efficient spatio-temporal function approximators, while the latter type allows the use of arbitrarily accurate implicit Runge–Kutta time stepping schemes with unlimited number of stages. The effectiveness of the proposed framework is demonstrated through a collection of classical problems in fluids, quantum mechanics, reaction–diffusion systems, and the propagation of nonlinear shallow-water waves.},

Hello everyone, I would like to ask how can I send a text message to ResearchGate management to inform them about my citations? They did not add it even though it was added to Scopus and Google Scholar a long time ago.
How can I ? need to renew my cv and need list of my publications and citations
Science Citation Index (SCI) and Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE) are both considered gold standards for scientific research. SCI journals are generally considered more prestigious and have higher impact factors than SCIE journals, but SCIE journals are more comprehensive.

Hello Everyone,
It is part of the dogma of verbotonalism that if you fix the intonation of an L2 you also automatically fix the pronunciation of all/most/many individual sounds. While I think from observation and results reported over the years in many places that this is true, I still have a question.
Has any study been done *with hard statistical data* to demonstrate that this is so? I am looking for something other than impressionistic data. And if such studies exist, please provide the citation if possible. I have no memory of such studies.
Since the Revue de Phonétique Appliquée disappeared a huge amount of publications on VT has also disappeared. I will try a closer look at Govor but I thought I would ask anyway.
Thank you!
Andrew
I had 793 citations as scored by ResearchGate, and I received email notification of a new citation, which should have been 794. No, it reads ZERO!
Hi! There was some kind of glitch on my ResearchGate page: the citations of my 104 articles, books and other publications suddenly turned out to be zero (see screenshot). What's reason of this surprise?

I have a question about article citations. Now all citations disappeared from my profile.
Let me know how to solve this problem.

H-INDEX & CITATION EVALUATIONS OF ACADEMICIANS, HOW MUCH RELIABLE !?
Why my citations appears as zero although my Research interest score 299 and H-index 13 and last time I have seen it was 425?
Today I checked my RG profile because it notified me of a new citation, however, when I entered my profile, I found that the citation statistic is at 0 (previously I had close to 1000 citations). Has this happened to anyone else?
Today I found a very strange thing in my research gate account..it showing Citations -0..However, I saw more than 150 Citations last week..Dose anyone know how to fix it ??
Dear Sir/ Madam
Today I was shocked as I saw the citation of my articles become zero, which was 101 in the morning, given that there are citations for each articles individually
What is the cause of that?
Best Regards
Dr. Haidar A Abdulamir
after 81 reads the article ,why i didnot have any citation . what is the diffrence between read and citation ?.how to improve that.
am trying to make POSCAR file and xyz file using vasp for NbReSi compound using VESTA. However, I notice that the number of atoms for xyz file is given as 41 whereas for POSCAR is it 36. Can anyone kind to explain why there is the difference? The cif file is given here.

How do I obtain a citation count for my publications?
Dear Prof,
Greetings .....
I'm Sebastian, would like to do research on paper publication and its impact in the ResearchGate database, like Web of Science and Scopus. So if you all have any idea or any direction, please suggest.
Thanks in Advance
My EndNote library doesn't allow me to add more than 10 references. "You have reached the maximum limit..." it frequently said. Thus, I am obliged to create too many "My EndNote Library enl" by renaming it which is very disgusting task. I have created too many EndNote Libraries to cite sources in in-text citation. In the display of EndNote library, there are not always more than 10 references in "All references". Please, help me how to fix such challenge.

Hello all,
I'm curious about theories of gravitation that are based upon aether theory. I know that the theory of the aether is not well accepted in science. What I am looking for is past and/or current theories where the aether and gravity are associated with each other. If you have an idea, let me know. If you have published research or read research, I would like to know. If you can provide a citation for this theory, that would also be welcomed. I would hope this post would not be a place to debate such theories, simply a place to post the theory. Let's hear what you have to say.
Researchgate claims that a paper references one that I co-authored. I was intrigued and downloaded the paper. I cannot find a citation of my work in that paper, using several different searches, as well as a visual scan of the references. Does anyone know how researchgate is generating these messages? And how do I report it if this is a mistake? I do not find any "contact us" or "help" link so I feel forced to enter this as a discussion with peers on this forum rather than a discussion with the keepers of the forum. Thanks.
Hey all!
I am looking for help to increase the citation count for my memristor test research.
Memristor test is a relatively new area with limited commercial availability for these nanoscale devices unlike transistors. Very few research ideas have been published in the test area since this technology is under development.
Please dm or comment all possible ideas for increasing citations. I am interested to learn about any resources that I could use to broadcast my research. Also I am not a full time researcher, I try to publish 1-2 papers every year.
Any memristor researchers interested to learn about test- please dm me! I would be very happy to connect and share my publications with you.
This question revolves around the indicators used to evaluate universities, scientists, and publications. Have these indicators truly served science? To what extent can they be relied upon? Or have they turned the focus into a race for more citations rather than emphasizing the quality and accuracy of scientific output?
I'm seeking research partners to collaborate on projects in Security, Privacy, Mobile Networks, Fake News Detection, and AI/ML for the lab I'm establishing.
Talented researchers interested in these areas can reach out to me at [email protected].
I have several topics available and would like to coordinate with PhD candidates (including postdocs and those in progress), undergraduate and graduate students, as well as industry experts.
Feel free to explore my Google Scholar profile here: https://scholar.google.se/citations?hl=en&user=xBZlxw4AAAAJ
Rather than purchasing individual articles, a more efficient approach could be to implement a payment system based on citations. Under this model, researchers would have access to the entirety of global academic papers; however, a fee would be incurred for each paper cited in their work. This payment mechanism could be effectively facilitated through the use of smart contracts.
A portion of the citation fee would be allocated to the author of the cited paper, while the remaining portion would be distributed to the individual or journal responsible for reviewing the cited work. Such a system could be implemented utilizing blockchain technology, with platforms like Hedera offering the necessary infrastructure. Additionally, collaboration with platforms like ResearchGate could provide the means to accurately identify and track citations.
It is important to note that this citation-based payment system does not necessarily require the involvement of traditional journals. However, journals can still benefit from this system by receiving a portion of the citation fees for the papers they publish and review. The primary beneficiaries of this system are researchers who need to access and cite papers, authors of original papers who receive compensation for their work, and the individuals who conduct thorough reviews of these papers. This approach not only incentivizes the creation and dissemination of high-quality research but also ensures that the contributions of authors and reviewers are appropriately recognized and rewarded.
I want to see number of citations each of my article has.
How can I correct wrong entries in ResearchGate, e.g. misspelled author names or citation of the wrong journal?

I emailed ResearchGate several times, and they have yet to reply.
Because it seems that the ResearchGate score relies more on the number of citations and less on the quality of the work or the significance of the journal in which the article was published.
I've just found a preprint that cites one of my publications. It's not captured on my citations. Is this typical for pre-prints and is there any way to capture these?
Hi. I had written a manuscript on Bibliometric Analysis related to oral cancer last year. Since then I had sent it to multiple journals only to get rejected. I request you all to please give me some insights on how to improve the manuscript. As one of the reviewer's comment mentioned that the study adds nothing new to the existing knowledge. The data was analyzed for year of publication, leading countries and their collaboration, source, number of citations, list of highly cited articles and keywords plus with Biblioshiny application.
I have some of my articles that have been cited by other published authors but this has not been added to my citations on Google Scholar and ResearchGate.
Citations in research gate need to re-evaluate .
I am writing a word document, using my Mac. When trying to insert a citation from Mendeley I get a Microsoft message saying "Citation/Bibliography is wrongly placed in index area, please delete the placed citation/bibliography in index area."
What should I do?
Many thanks
My word repeats the same number every time[1] in all places when I insert citations from Mendeley?, though I insert a different journal it still shows me again [1], track changes does not work I tried pls help

I added a version of my article (as a preprint, though after review and confirmation of acceptance), which cites my previous article. But now, a published version is added separately, and a double citation is indicated by the article and preprint with the same doi! How to either fix this duplication or merge the article and the preprint? Don't want to delete the preprint, because somebody saved it.
Citations not appear in research gate.
Many research articles, earning positive feedback by researcher(s), have been observed to be hardly cited.
This is a point which is to be thought of deeply.
I think, in order to cite an article by an author it is required that
(1) the author must read this article and understand it,
& (2) the article must be related to and suitable for the article where to be cited.
As I do understand, the quality of an article is a necessary but not sufficient condition for being cited by researchers/authors.
Thus the following question arises:
"Does the citation of a research article depend upon its quality only ?"
ResearchGate does a pretty good job of tracking publication analytics such as reads and citations over time. The recommendations feature can also be an interesting indicator for a publication's resonance with the scholarly community.
This progress allow for ideas to be developed about how to make the analytics features even better in the future. Here are some ideas I have been thinking about:
- something equivalent to Altmetric that tracks social media mentions across multiple platforms and mentions in news articles, conference proceedings, etc.
- more longitudinal data for individual publications by month and year
- the ability to compare the performance of one's own publications, with perhaps a way to rank them in analytic reports by reads, citations, etc.
- More specific analytics to allow for comparisons within and between departments on an individual and collective basis, which can be sorted by discipline, field, etc.
Are there any additional analytics features that you would like to see on ResearchGate?
I am looking for exact copy number of pET28a plasmid. A citation would be great. Literature search only shows that it is low copy vector, but I haven't found any papers that mention the exact copy number or even an estimate.

Is it ethical and copyrightable to post ebooks created by ChatGPT on the Internet that lack citation references and commonly plagiarize entire sentences, paragraphs, chapters from other publications taken by OpenAI from various websites?
Over the past few months, a number of offers of various consulting services, training courses and webinars have appeared on online social media, which initially offer the first trial lessons, webinars, training courses as part of a promotion for free and subsequent ones for a fee. Initially, ebooks are offered free of charge as part of the promotion, which are usually developed with the help of ChatGPT, are of poor content quality, usually containing only general, well-known, popular science knowledge, which can be found independently on the Internet on various websites. Besides, the ebooks created with the help of ChatGPT or other similar intelligent chatbots do not contain all the sources correctly listed. Besides, the resulting ebooks contain many passages, whole sentences, paragraphs taken from other publications that are not shown in the bibliography, and plagiarism thus occurs. In addition, in the field of expertise, there are factual errors and irrational, random, random, combined content from different sources, and thus inconsistent with the facts, ridiculous content and/or descriptions of "fictitious facts" occur. This is because much of the database that constitutes the sources of data and information for ChatGPT is factually outdated, as it dates from late 2021 or January 2022. It may happen that in the ChatGPT-generated text there may be some sensitive data of specific companies or public institutions, which found themselves there accidentally by being mistakenly entered into ChatGPT by an employee of a specific company or institution. In view of the above, there are still gaps in paragraphs in the legal norms defining the rules for the correct use of tools such as ChatGPT, and still the adaptation of legal norms to the rapidly developing technology is often done with too much delay. Besides, popular online social media even feature partly free and partly paid training courses and webinars, where Internet users learn how to create texts for articles, columns, essays, etc., as well as chapters for books, which can be published as ebooks, in a relatively easy way with the help of applications available on the Internet based on generative artificial intelligence technology. Besides, in addition to text, graphics, photos, drawings, etc., which are included in the texts of chapters in ebooks can also be generated semi-automatically in applications based on generative artificial intelligence technology. It also happens that during the aforementioned online trainings and webinars, access is sold to specially created websites that act as intermediary platforms, overlays that contain links to various AI-based web applications, which have been classified in a certain way on a specially created platform and, to make identification more difficult, the links are called by different names relative to the web applications to which they direct. In addition, many of these web-based applications based on generative AI technology are made available on the Internet on the original source sites free of charge. On the other hand, on intermediary platforms created by companies or sole proprietors that contain links referencing these applications, access is paid for and is often sold as part of so-called promotional offers during the conducted, aforementioned online training courses and webinars. Internet users usually learn about such online trainings and webinars from banners and advertising posts posted on popular online social media sites.
I described the key issues of opportunities and threats to the development of artificial intelligence technology in my article below:
OPPORTUNITIES AND THREATS TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE APPLICATIONS AND THE NEED FOR NORMATIVE REGULATION OF THIS DEVELOPMENT
In view of the above, I address the following question to the esteemed community of scientists and researchers:
Is it ethical and copyrightable to post on the Internet ebooks created by ChatGPT that lack citation references and commonly plagiarize entire sentences, paragraphs, chapters from other publications taken by OpenAI from various websites?
Is it ethical to post ebooks created by ChatGPT on the Internet that lack citation references and plagiarism commonly occurs?

I personally checked each of the citations of my works on the Academy website and I validated those where my works are cited. The papers on the Academy website in which I am correctly cited are not on ResearchGate. How can I promote them on ResearchGate so that all my papers cited become validated?
I would expect that "An Article in a Web Magazine" is probably the most appropriate MLA citation format.
Based on MLA Formatting and Style Guide, and considering Quora as a web magazine, I would say, in APA:
Author, A. A. (Year, Month Day of answer). Title of answer [Answer to question]. In Quora. URL of the question.
Note that the format for citing an answer on Quora is similar to citing a blog post or online forum post. If you cannot find all the information required for the citation, include as much information as possible and follow the APA guidelines for citing electronic sources.
What's your opinion?

Do you encourage citation in any way?
I would love to hear your opinions on how to expand your network and promote your own research work.
I would also like to wish you all the best in the new year!
Best regards
The site shows that my works are cited in some papers, however when I checked those papers, I found no sign of being referenced (on the other hand my work is referenced in completely different text, which is not recognised at all, maybe because those text weren't uploaded to the site). How to ensure the citations are attribute correctly?
The impact of retracted papers on the scientific community can be significant and far-reaching. When a scientific paper is retracted, it means that the findings and conclusions presented in the paper are no longer considered valid or reliable. This can have serious consequences for future research, as other researchers may have built their work upon the now-discredited findings. Furthermore, retracted papers can erode public trust in the scientific community and raise questions about the peer-review process and the rigor of scientific research.
Regarding citations for articles: I have 79 citations for my articles. but research score it is showing only 1. What is the reason for this mismatch ?
The research gate can not recognize the citations for articles registered in it.
Hi I'm new to ResearchGate. How do I find all papers that cited me?
Thanks,
Stan
If you're using a number such as a statistic from a reference study you want to cite, should you write the number with the confidence interval? And how to effectively prevent plagiarism when dealing with numbers?
Thank you!
Over the last 10 years, I have been using the Mendeley citation manager. Due to their new policy, it is not working as smoothly with MS Word. Therefore, I am looking for a good alternative.
I'm looking for hard-working researchers for the new research project "EDUCATION IN THE AI ERA." I would like to create the survey on Google and do international research.
If you are interested in joining and working together, write to me via ResearchGate.

I receive "you have a new citation" notification on ResearchGate but my total number of citation is the same for long time. My expectation was the total number of citation increase by one whenever I get one more citation message. Am I wrong?
An article was accepted in March of 2019 for publication, but it was not published until May of 2020. The citation on ResearchGate shows May 2019 as the publication date.
The problem that I would like to solve is that two identical versions of a publication are listed as distinct RG-items in my account, because they have slightly different titles. Is it possible to merge these two items, so that the reads and citations are added together? Thanks colleagues!
I mean who used my papers as references ?
Dear colleagues
I am glad and grateful to invite you as a partner in my scientific research lab community is involved in various projects across the globe, and I present a sample of those: computer engineering, computer science, artificial intelligence, machine learning, deep learning, data mining, optimization, and so on...
All articles must be published in (WOS - Core Collection Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE). Social Sciences Citation Index (SSCI).
Projects cover all publication fees.
Send your C.V including your publications history, via email to [email protected]
if your application is accepted, we will discuss all benefits and profits in an online meeting with the project manager

Several of my colleagues and students asked me this question, and the short answer is no; student paper citations are generally not considered in the similarity ratio of a paper submitted for publication in a journal.
Here's the reasoning behind this:
The primary focus of similarity checks is on published sources. Plagiarism detection tools in academic publishing, such as Crossref Similarity Check or iThenticate, primarily compare submitted manuscripts against academic databases containing published journal articles, books, conference proceedings, and other scholarly works. Student papers and unpublished materials are generally not part of these databases.
Citation styles are not considered in the analysis. Even if your citations involve student papers, the actual citation text and reference formatting (e.g., author names, dates, titles) would be excluded from the analysis. These tools are designed to identify uncredited ideas and text passages, not to evaluate standard citation practices.
The emphasis is on originality and novelty. The main purpose of similarity checks in academic publishing is to ensure the originality and novelty of the submitted work. While proper citation is essential for academic integrity, the content of student papers is not relevant when assessing the uniqueness of a research publication.
However, there are situations where student paper citations may raise concerns:
Self-plagiarism: If you're citing your own student papers in the published work, it's crucial to ensure that the reused content is substantial and properly rephrased with appropriate attributions. Excessive self-plagiarism can still be problematic even if the original work is not published.
Unpublished sources: If the student papers you're citing have a significant impact on your research, consider reaching out to the authors to inquire about their plans for publication. Alternatively, provide detailed information about the unpublished sources (e.g., author names, institutions, titles, dates) with your submission to give reviewers context.
In conclusion, it is advisable to adhere to standard academic citation guidelines regardless of whether the source is published. If you are unsure about the appropriateness of citing student papers, seek guidance from your research advisor or editor, considering the specific requirements of your field and publication.
Google Scholars citation counts are needed for promotion in my institution. Since my citations are not reflected in my Google Scholars account, my h-index continues to remain low. This stopped my promotion in the past year. I need assistance please.
Thank you very much.

I'm a current undergraduate student. I often get asked source when I explain that linear regression need only residual normality assumption, and not variable normality. I know there's so many website that explain this on the internet but they don't believe this kind of citation. Any recommendation about maybe journal artical or something similar that I can refer them to?
Here is the full list. Most journals drowned badly. Corona's Impact seems to vanish as Citations decreased.
Is ex ante power analysis the same as a priori power analysis or is it something different in the domain of SEM and multiple regression analysis? If it is different, then what are the recommended methods or procedures? Any citations for it?
Thank you for precious time and help!
Heliyon does not give a clear format for the reference. Which should I choose in Endnote?
My article entitled "Exploration and collection of root and tuber crops in East Wollega and Ilu Ababora zones: Rescuing declining genetic resources" is highjacked by some profile in Research gate and considered H-index and citation value for this guy.
I have added a screenshot of that guy from his google scholar account (where he has added my paper). Following are the links of his researchgate and google scholar accounts : https://www.researchgate.net/profile/Amitava_Ghosh5

What distinctions are there in the visibility of article citations between ResearchGate and other leading academic platforms?
Hi, I'm new to this space, got some of journals published few months ago on nature, microscopy, both are open access.
I checked my url is verified,
Checked make my profile public selected
Still I'm unable to search myself on Google scholar nor in Google search.
Found in others something in their profile mentioning public access. My co-authors profile is searchable but not mine.
How to make it so?
PS- I checked I have a verified college mail id
I checked I have not added texts manually, all via google add and search via doi URL
My first paper published on 2021
Thank you 😊
After acceptance from Benchmarking: an International Journal, I checked for the impact factor on which I can fully trust. But I could not find either impact factor or JCR for 2022 or before. Can anyone help me out with this?
