Questions related to Journal Articles
Hai...could anyone suggest for me a journal with rapid publication in the field of microalgal CO2 sequestration.(review work)... a journal indexed in WOS, Scopus, SCIE with no publication fees..
Thank you
Thinking of journals as “low tier” or “high tier” is distracting from what you actually need to do, which is good work. Do your work as best you can, and publish in the fanciest journal that will accept your papers. Trying to over-optimize will lead to a lot of wasted time and lost productivity, which might end up hurting your chances for future jobs. And you also don’t want to give the impression that you’re more interested in the journal you publish in than in the work you do.
The main difference between a “high tier” journal and a “lower tier” one is that the high tier selects papers that have more surprising results, and are more likely to be wrong. You read that right — results in “fancy” journals such as Nature or Science are pretty often wrong, which makes sense given that they are “groundbreaking”. When doing groundbreaking work, it’s likely you’ll make a lot of mistakes; that’s the price you pay for going too far off the beaten path. Results that make it to more average journals are more mundane, but for that reason it’s also easier to make them more rigorous, and thus it’s less likely they’re wrong.
Remember also that no journal has dedicated reviewers. The people reviewing your work will be essentially the same, whether in Nature (impact factor >30) or in PLOS (impact factor about 3). So a fancy journal selects for how amazing your work sounds more than for how good it is.
That said, of course you want to stay away from the creepy “journals” that invite you to publish your work in them without getting your name right or having any idea what your work is about. It’s probably better to not publish at all than publish there. In some fields — like theoretical physics and most of math — people only really care about the results being available on a preprint server like the arXiv and don’t care where the work ends up being published. This is starting to become more popular in some areas of biology, too, with the bioRxiv (preprint server for Biology).
Another common sense thing to do is to first try publishing your work in a journal that’s just a bit fancier than you think your results are. If they reject your paper, go down the ladder. So if you’ve found a nice, new result that seems somewhat surprising, it’s worth considering submitting it to Nature or Science (or whatever the fancy journal of choice is in your field), just in case they like it. But if your work is a rather obvious extension of existing work, you might be better off heading for a more specialized journal that puts less emphasis on groundbreaking results.
Depending on different journal articles and some with method with clear designs and some without method section and still called as journal articles ( can be derived a lot from reputed publisher), this makes me perplexed with what the scientific articles or journal in social science ( not natural science). Professors , scholars and researchers help to clarify , thanks!
I'm currently writing a paper which I feel might be suited to become a conceptual paper. Am currently reading the attached article for a better idea, but I would really appreciate any examples of conceptual papers that have been published, preferably in social sciences or humanities.
Thank you!

Certainly! Here's a refined version of your question:
"I've been encountering challenges downloading and reading journal articles. Despite some being accessible through Sci-Hub using their DOI numbers, there are still many that remain unavailable. Is there any reliable solution to overcome this issue?"
Can a published journal article be submitted to conferences?
Hi, my team and I want to publish a paper. However, the journals we are overseeing for possible submission only accept 3 authors and we are 4. Would it be wrong or prone to desk rejection if we submit our paper for consideration with this number of authors?
I have lots of Academic Term Papers and Seminar papers which under go thorough literature reviews and are well reference but do not follow journal article guidelines.
Can i publish them?

According to the journal article I've posted, the Sysmex DI-60 can detect the different morphologies of the RBCs. I want to find out if the Sysmex DI-60 can detect not only the morphology of the RBCs, but it can also detect parasites, bacteria and viruses in the RBCs.
In a journal article written by Kavulavu et al. (2022), entitled “Challenges facing Blood Transfusion Services at a Regional Blood Transfusion Center in Western Kenya”, one of the key challenges faced at the Eldoret Regional Blood Transfusion Center (ERBTC) is unsuitable blood wastages and discards. While majority of these blood discards were due to transfusion transmissible infections, statistics have shown that about 33.3% of the discards were due to insufficient volumes. Aligned with this, this question is raised in hopes to know what strategies can be implemented to reduce the incidence of unsuitable blood discards. Moreover, this will also look into the potential of using technology and automated machines in addressing these problems.

Is it a good idea to send pre-submission inquiries to multiple journals to accelerate the publication process? or do we have to wait for the editors' response to a pre-sub before sending another one?
Thank you!
I have encountered significant obstacles in funding publication fees for my well-executed research, resulting in prolonged delays and discouraging responses from journals. Despite diligently submitting to fee-waived journals and ensuring that my research aligns with their scope, I consistently receive standardized rejections citing reasons such as 'out of scope,' which does not accurately reflect the nature of my work.
As a researcher striving to disseminate valuable findings, I am seeking guidance on how to navigate this challenging scenario effectively. How can I secure funding or explore alternative avenues to cover publication fees? Additionally, how can I address the issue of misaligned responses from journals and ensure that my research receives fair consideration within the academic community?
I would greatly appreciate any insights or recommendations from fellow researchers who may have encountered similar challenges in the publication process. Your expertise and advice would be invaluable in helping me overcome these hurdles.
I'm encountering challenges in funding publication fees and facing discouraging responses from journals despite my research aligning with their scope. How can I navigate this situation effectively?
I am looking for a Q1 journal with a publication cost of 0 USD and a very short publishing period, specifically in the field of Hybrid Neural Networks. Can anyone suggest some?
Thank you.
Which is preferable:
publishing an article in a close-access journal like Elsevier (or Springer), or publishing in an open-access journal with a low impact factor?
I am creating a literature review and stumbled on different journal articles fed by Google Scholar. However, when I click articles from MDPI, I cannot open any articles from them. Do anybody here know what happen to the publisher?
How should ChatGPT and other intelligent chatbots be used so that it is ethical, socially responsible and does not break copyright? How should intelligent chatbots that are generative language models be used, so that the texts and other types of works created by tools based on generative artificial intelligence are created fairly, in accordance with the ethics of writing articles, certain documents, photos, graphics, videos, etc., and in such a way that, by the way, within the framework of this type of "creation", copyright is not violated, so that all the necessary footnotes to texts, documents, photos, etc. are reliably shown. source, so that a bibliography with all properly shown sources, source materials, references to source documents, so that materials, articles, books, documents and other source studies are properly and reliably cited?
As chatbots equipped with generative artificial intelligence technology are finding more and more applications within the framework of supporting human creative work, so the level of relevance of discussions concerning the ethical aspects of the use of such tools in the creative production of certain works is also increasing. Since the release of ChatGPT in open access on the Internet, it is a rapidly growing application of this tool in the increasingly automated creation of various types of texts, which until now were written by humans and now for humans can be done by artificial intelligence technology, an intelligent chatbot based on a generative language model. Advanced generative language models are taught to produce various types of texts based on artificial neural network technology, which are taught specific "skills" through a process of deep learning on the basis of data and information from many online databases, online libraries, indexing databases of scientific papers, information portals containing millions of source texts, and are refined through ongoing discussions with millions of users on the Internet. At present, such intelligent chatbots based on advanced generative language models are already being made available on the Internet by almost all leading Internet technology companies, or are currently working on developing and improving such tools and will soon make them available in open access to Internet users. Such increasingly "intelligent" tools that develop various kinds of documents, texts, studies in an increasingly sophisticated way and carry out the "creative" process in an increasingly perfect way are finding a rapidly growing scale of new applications and are being used more and more widely by Internet users. However, on the other hand, in a situation where Internet users use such tools not only for casual discussions, for fun, for entertainment, and commission intelligent chatbots to develop an article, formalized document, photo, graphic, etc. intended for publication, for use in a thesis, in an analytical report on the analysis and evaluation of the functioning of certain real-world economic entities and institutions, etc., then certain problems of an ethical nature arise. then certain ethical problems arise in connection with the use by the said intelligent chatbots from texts, documents, photos, articles and scientific and other books available on the Internet, etc., without first asking the authors of these studies, works, etc. whether they allow the use of their works, works, studies that have been published on the Internet in advance. In addition to this, ethical problems are also related to the fact that the said intelligent chatbots, in the course of automated development of works, often still do not fully show footnotes to sources, on show a full bibliography in the specified standards for the development of bibliographic descriptions of texts and source materials. Besides, also during the discussions conducted by intelligent chatbots with Internet users, it is not obligatory for the company providing the chatbot to obtain consent from the Internet user for the use of his knowledge, his documents and studies, his works, which he will enter into the database system of the intelligent chatbot, which are then used to improve the discussions conducted on the part of the chatbot, and are used to provide answers, to perform commissioned works for subsequent other Internet users. Besides, what is particularly important, in a situation when an intelligent chatbot on the order of an Internet user develops a certain work, and if it even shows sources for data, shows materials, publications, articles, books, photos, other source materials in the footnotes, in the bibliography, then at the same time a request is not sent to the authors of the source works for the possibility of their use by the chatbot in the development of a certain commissioned work by another Internet user, and no consent is taken from the authors of the original sources of data, information, results of previously conducted research, analysis, etc. Besides, in connection with the fact that many of the above-mentioned issues are not regulated by law, so there is still no mandatory requirement for authors of studies created with the involvement of tools based on a certain generative artificial intelligence technology to demonstrate that the work or a part of it, a certain fragment was created with the use of a certain mentioned tool. Accordingly, studies, texts, photos created with the use of such intelligent tools may contain information that is inconsistent with the facts and can be and are used to generate disinformation on the Internet, mainly on social media websites. Therefore, there are various dangers, risks, serious dangers associated with the unauthorized, incompatible with ethical principles, without respect for copyright, creation of certain works through the use of generative artificial intelligence. Thus, it is necessary to properly regulate all the above-mentioned issues concerning the creation of various types of works using generative artificial intelligence. In addition to this, it is necessary to legally sanction the creation of a requirement to automatically mark the works created in this way that a particular study, text, article, document, photo, film, etc. was created using a particular intelligent tool. It is also necessary to systematically organize the collection of consent from the authors of various types of source works, previously written texts, articles, books, made studies, photos, films, whose authors are human creators for the use of their works in the automated creation of further studies and works but already realized by tools based on generative artificial intelligence.
In view of the above, I address the following question to the esteemed community of scientists and researchers:
How should ChatGPT and other intelligent chatbots be used so that it is ethical, socially responsible and does not violate copyrights? How should intelligent chatbots that are generative language models be used, so that the texts and other types of works created by tools based on generative artificial intelligence are created fairly, in accordance with the ethics of writing articles, certain documents, photos, graphics, videos, etc., and in such a way that, by the way, within the framework of this type of "creation", copyrights are not violated, so that all necessary footnotes to texts, documents, photos, etc., are reliably demonstrated. source, so that a bibliography with all properly shown sources, source materials, references to source documents is developed to the full extent, so that materials, articles, books, documents and other source studies are cited correctly and reliably?
How should ChatGPT be used so that it is ethical, socially responsible and does not violate copyrights?
And what is your opinion on this topic?

In connection with a 2023 journal article authored by Zhenzhen Pan et al., exploring the effectiveness of serological antibody testing for Hepatitis D virus, the study concludes that HDV screening exhibits notable accuracy in serological testing. However, I am curious about how long are these HDV antibodies detectable through serological testing.
If I have an article originally published in Spanish, there is a way to publish an English version of it even if the original version has been published for some years.
Conference proceedings capture a researcher's insights and contributions usually presented to a broader audience. But these papers may not be equivalent to journal articles because journal articles do undergo thorough peer-reviewed process.
Thus, I would like to learn if Conference papers which have not been Peer-reviewed are considered as publications and are Citable.
Scholarly greetings.

Thanks in advance.
This is a question that I've always had but never asked the bigger research body. For journal articles and presentations, I use PowerPoint or Canva to make specimen drawings or schematics. However, they look very amateur and not publish-worthy.
What other easy-to-use software/sites are available? I'm more so interested in drawings such as the one attached.
Thank you!

Hi,
I worked on my master's thesis several years ago, which was related to the LST of a basin with two methods: Single Window and Sebal using Landsat images, during the study period of 1984 to 2017.
Now I want to change this thesis into an article. Is it necessary for me to update the years until 2023 or not?
Good day. I am responsible for the inclusion of the journal Reports of Morphology in the Web of Science and Scopus scientometric databases. A month ago, the journal received approval for inclusion in Scopus (Web of Science is in the third stage of verification. Pub Med is in the final stages of inspection). Our articles are already indexed (proof):

I am also currently involved in promoting the journal to the international scientific community.
The journal is aimed specifically at morphology: forensic medicine (with morphology), pathological anatomy, normal anatomy, normal histology, cytology, embryology.
The cost of publication is 6 dollars per page.
The journal is published 4 times a year, with 10 publications in each issue.
Articles are reviewed - that's why adequate quality photos, adequate list of references, correspondence to the topic of the journal, etc. are necessary.
Review articles or case reports are not accepted.
We will be glad for your publications.

Peer review work done for reviewing a journal article or a book doesn't get any recognition. At present only web of science permits to add reviewer's work. Is it possible to add this review work done by reviewer in research gate ? How to get the credit for review work ? Many Universities don't give credentials for this work as a academician.
Do local government officials, including mayors and city presidents, act ethically if they treat local government newspapers that are published in print form and/or in electronic form on a website by local government publications financed from the state's public finance system or from the local government budget as a propaganda tube of their person?
It happens more than once that local government officials, including mayors and city presidents of local government newspapers that are published in print form and/or in electronic form on a website by local government publishing houses financed from the state's public finance system or from the local government budget treat them as a propaganda tube of their person. In your opinion, is this ethical, socially responsible and in line with citizens' expectations? In this regard, in some countries there has been a discussion for years whether this kind of local media is needed since it is mainly used by local government authorities to promote themselves in the context of the next local elections. This kind of discussion has been going on for many years in the public debate in the country where I operate. The basis of the consideration is the issue of spending money from the state's public finance system to carry out such propaganda publishing activities of local government units. In addition, it has happened more than once that local government authorities have obtained additional funds from the state's public finance system to carry out the digitization and Internetization of the publishing process of local government journals published. However, during this process, the issue of objectivity and journalistic integrity of the information presented in these magazines was not improved, and still transferred to the Internet, local government magazines are used as an instrument of political marketing, where local government authorities promote themselves, present their achievements only in positive aspects with not allowing a word of criticism, discussion, polemics coming from the local community.
In view of the above, I address the following question to the esteemed community of scientists and researchers:
Do local government officials, including mayors and city presidents, act ethically if local government newspapers, which are published in print form and/or in electronic form on the website by local government publications financed from the state's public finance system or from the local government budget, treat them as a propaganda tube for their person?

Dear all
Our new article "About Probiotics" is ready for final submission after two peer reviews. However, the reviewer and editor recommend minor grammatical corrections in MS either by a native English speaker colleague or to avail paid online grammar editing service. We do not have sufficient funds to bear the cost, nor do a native speaker, what should we do in this case, the MS has already taken more than 6 months, please suggest.
Thanks a lot for your attention. Have a great day.
This is non-science related - I currently have some published journal articles which just sit as electronic PDF files in my computer, but I would love to print them and keep it in the house as a memoir of my research (I am no longer working in academia).
I want to learn how other people store their published articles- Did you buy the physical copy of the journal? If you printed them, which form would you recommend?
I would love to get tips from everyone :)
I got an invite to join SciPinion and I can't tell if it is a predatory journal or not. Anybody have experience with them?
The email opened with this: "Your peers have identified you as an expert in your field and you have been invited to join our highly respected scientific community. Please claim your account!" and then went and ended with: "We believe your inclusion in our community strengthens our mission and our collective goal as scientists to find the truth, we would very much appreciate your insights. Your participation in any of this may remain completely anonymous at your discretion."
My manuscript was accepted in an Elsevier journal on Sep. 26, 2018. The corrected proof is available online since Oct. 5, 2018 but I haven't received the final version yet. At the same time, I see more recent publications that are available as final versions. What could be the reasons?
Hi Academics,
Kindly could you clarify the meaning of the term " Researcher"?
Best.
My initial study used literature review along with semi-structured interviews as research methods and involved the following main steps:
(i) Gathering information by reviewing the relevant literature;
(ii) Gathering information through a series of in-depth semi-structured interviews;
(iii) Transcribing, checking and cross-checking the answers received during the interviews;
(iv) Analysing the answers received during the interviews and the information collected through the literature review;
(v) Summarizing the information gathered and drawing conclusions.
I have published the results received in conference proceedings and am now thinking of converting them into a journal article. For this purpose I would like to expand the research through converting qualitative data into quantitative values. Who could advise on what are the best ways to achieve this objective. Thank you!
Exciting news! My latest journal article titled "Redefining older Australians: moving beyond stereotypes and consumer narratives in print media representations" has been accepted for publication in Media International Australia. Stay tuned for its release!
I have published many journal articles, but i have only one on ResearchGate. How do i get my other papers on ResearchGate to increase my visibility?
Often researchers get articles to review and they are paid nothing. The same publisher charge for accessing the journal articles. Doesn't it seems nonsense? Expecting your view in this regard.

Dear Tech supports,
My school asked me to do the (qualitative) systematic literature review.
I want to search my journal articles via the ResearchGate database.
How can I transfer my search results to Excel to remove duplicates?
How can I set my criteria before my search?
How can I know the numbers of my results?
Your help is much appreciated.
Sincerely,

Hi All,
I’m often asked to suggest academic Design Journals, but find it hard to find a 'one-stop' list so researchers/ students can review and select. I’ve started a rough list in no particular order (link below). Any Design related journal suggestions would be welcome, from Innovation to engineering, education to ergonomics, UX to Design history, etc. Discipline-specific or Interdisciplinary.
Please offer some suggestions and Il add them to the list. Looking for quality, peer-reviewed offerings.
Thanks alot!
P.J.

The following information concerns the preparation of your assignment for the Financial Econometrics module. The aim is to write an academic paper (informative and formal) by analysing the data provided using the statistics knowledge acquired so far in the module.
For this assignment/exam, your aim is to explore the following research question:
“What determines profitability of European banks?”
1) You are expected to write the research work on your own.
2) You have to use the data set for European banks (“eurozone.xls”) available on the school’s portal. The data relates to various characteristics of the individual banks.
3) You are free to use any of the variables provided as long as your analysis is meaningful and tackles the research question. Please note that you should use the statistics you believe more appropriate for best describing the data set.
4) Please do not include raw data at the end of the paper since this would only waste paper.
However, you should select data from the original data set to prepare your assignment.
Assignment Structure
There are different formats which could be used for this assignment but you may consider the following structure below for your work:
• Abstract
• Table of Contents
• Aims and Objectives
• Review of relevant literature and theory.
• Methodology and Data (including the definition of variables)
• Results and Discussion
• Conclusions and recommendations
• References
• Appendices (additional relevant material)
Further instructions
Your submission should include an appendix of the printouts of your Stata do-file (if applicable) and your Stata output. Your written report should contain all relevant estimation and hypothesis test results (as if you were writing for a journal article). Marks will be awarded for presentation, and you are encouraged to devise informative means for presenting the results, including tables where appropriate.
You may collaborate in working out how to run the estimations on Stata. However, you are required to write up your report independently, and I will require a separate and independent submission from each person.
Please come and ask if you are experiencing difficulties.
Dear community,
I spend the last days reading many questions and responses as well as several journal articles and research papers on the topic of time series analysis and the individual steps. Unfortunately, the more I read the more confused I became...now I hope that you can help me out.
I am writing my master thesis about FDI determinants in Ethiopia. I have selected FDI per GDP as dependent variable and several independent variables (exchange rate change, inflation rate, labor force participation rate, telephone subscriptions per 100 citizens, a governance index (ranking from 0 to 100), and exports + imports as ratio of GDP). I am also thinking about adding a dummy variable to reflect the effects of the Growth and Transformation Plan in 2010.
The next step is to analyse the data empirically in order to investigate the impact of the explanatory variables on the FDI inflow. Due to data availability I only cover a period of 20 years (1996-2016). I read several papers on this topic but somehow everyone performed/applied different steps/tests/models. Also the order of the test performed varies in the papers.
I am really confused by now with regards to the differences between OLS, ECM, ARDL, and VAR and what is the most appropriate method in my case.
In addition, authors performed (some didn't) different tests for unit root/stationary, for co-integration, for multicollinearity, for autocorrelation, for heteroskedasticity. Also in a different order.
Besides, I am confused about the lag selection process and the meaning/difference of AR(1) and I(1).
Moreover, many authors transformed the variables first with log. I cannot do that as I have to negative observations (inflation rate).
Earlier I also read something about trend and difference stationary and depending on this different unit root test.
Like I said, I am just so confused by now that I don't even know who and where to start.
I am working mainly with SPSS but will perform the unit root tests in Eviews as SPSS do not have this function.
I really hope that you can help me by providing a little guideline on what I need to do and in which order. Thank you so much!
Can I publish my design in my research article at the time of design patent submitted to IPR?
Two weeks before I submitted my design to IPR for patent purposes, I would like to upload the research article to the journal. In that journal, I used that particular design.
Is it okay to upload that article, or is there any other alternative way?
Is there anyone who can help me in finding the appropriate template for this Elsevier journal?
How is this possible on ResearchGate?????

Is it ok to check Plagiarism multiple times using Turnitin or any other software?
Some of my friends said plagiarism checking was allowed only twice. If we check for plagiarism a third time, it will be considered plagiarism and the data will be stored in cloud while plagiarism. Is it true?
How many times I can check my research article for plagiarism using software?
I was looking for research papers that have employed descriptive statistics to analyse quantitative data which are mostly categorical/dichotomous variables and thematic analysis to analyse qualitative data in a sequential explanatory mixed methods research.
Trying to look up an journal article in the International Journal of Vegetable Science, 24(3), 292-304.
what is best way to do this?
What are the main differences between publishing in high-scoring scientific journals and low-scoring or no points?
The scientist tries to publish in high-ranked places but he is not always able to publish in other journals, which are low-scoring or without points. It depends on the field in which it operates scientifically, how many scientific journals are scored in a given field and what are the requirements and limitations.
Please reply
I invite you to the discussion
Thank you very much
Best wishes
I recently got this message with a rejection to upload a preprint to ArXiv which is currently published in a peer-reviewed Q3 journal:
"While we acknowledge that this article has been published, our moderators determined it is not of plausible interest for inclusion within arXiv. As a result, this submission has been declined."
Do moderators in ArXiv act as professional and authorized reviewers for whatever subject the paper is submitted to their website?
As a research scholar, I feel that a lot of time is wasted in preparing a manuscript according to a journal format. The worst part is that if the paper gets desk rejected, then we have to prepare the manuscript in some other journal style. A lot of time is wasted in this cycle.
When the paper can be type set by the journal after getting accepted, then why dont journal allow a general free format submission.

The Article Processing Charge (APC) is 1400 CHF (Swiss Francs) per accepted paper. However, the fees will be fully waived (as it is an invitation to contribute) if I can submit the paper by the end of June 2020.
If anyone have a collaboration idea, please send me a message.
AI (Artificial Intelligence) is rapidly expanding and entered every sector with almost mixed reactions for its utility. Kindly share some views backed up by strong examples.
I have a doctoral student who wants to use a validated instrument about Leadership Skills from a journal article, but can't reach the authors - mail returned. What should she do now? Of course she would cite the article and the authors and article in her dissertation - but is this ok to do?
Also -- any other suggestions of sites that have validated instruments to use?
It seems I need statistical background or data that is primary research to be used for journal articles. Where do I find it? Do I conduct a research survey to test hypothesis? How are researchers going about this process? What resources or tools do you have, if any? Thanks.
What is the typical timeframe for a published journal article to be indexed in SCIE/Web of Science (WoS)?
PhD students should not be solely judged by the number of journal articles they have produced. While publications are a critical measure of a PhD's productivity and contribution to their field, they are not the only indicator of success or ability.
PhD students should be evaluated on the quality of their work, their critical thinking skills, their ability to solve problems, and their contribution to their discipline in general. These factors can be considered in evaluating their contributions, whether or not these contributions are made in the form of publications.
Additionally, many doctoral students face challenges such as funding, access to data, and time constraints that may limit their ability to produce journal articles. These limitations can result in the prioritization of other modes of scholarship such as conference opportunities, poster presentations, patent applications, data sharing, and policy briefs, which are equally valuable.
Ultimately, the doctoral process and its evaluation should be viewed as a holistic process with an emphasis on professional development, creation of new knowledge, and producing work of high quality across a range of relevant platforms.
May anyone please share material on use of implementation strategy in public health?
How do we assess the feasibility and scalability of proposed intervention?
Kindly please share viewpoints and journal articles on these topic
I conduct research in the field of molecular oncology and, in addition to the main research article, I have accumulated some data for a summary, literally 4-5 pages (the grant is ending soon, so there is no possibility to conduct a full-scale study). Which, in this case, is it better to choose the type of articles - communication or brief report? Any significant differences?
Your opinion?
Good time, dear, I need a journal article clarivate about cancer, immunology, and molecular biology and is easy to accept. PhD student and final year thanks and best regards
Does it mean, I can access published journal articles from ScienceDirect and Scopus? If that is possible/yes, what were the procedures?
If we posted a research paper on ResearchSquare before it got officially published in a journal, and then the journal rejects it because it's already available as a pre-print and has a high similarity index with the same pre-print. What can we do to handle this situation?
Thank you
Hi,
I'd like to publish my already published journal article as a book. My article was published under a Creative Commons Attribution license. Is it possible to also find a well-known publisher who would publish my article? A couple of months back, a publisher from India offered to publish my article under a Creative Commons Attribution license as a text book in India, however, I declined their offer as I didn't trust the authenticity of their publications.
My question is: are their other well-known publishers who might publish my article, preferably in the Western world? As the publisher from India showed interest in publishing my article for their text book, I am very keen to know. Could you please also suggest some publishers, if possible?
My article examines how social media (SM) activeness affects the work-life balance of Bangladeshi white collar work force and suggests measures to reduce their negative and reinforce their positive aspects. Primary research has been conducted using an online questionnaire-based survey using judgement sampling. The study recommends several measures to reinforce the positive impacts and reduce the negative ones, and it was published in the SciMedCentral Archives of Palliative Care journal.
Citation: Mujeri, N. (2021). Social Media Activeness and Work-Life Balance in the Bangladesh Context: A Descriptive Study. Archives of Palliative Care.
Attached: journal article for your viewing.
Would it be possible to publish this journal article as a book? Would it impact the willingness of an editor to publish my work as a book? What do you think?
It would be great to hear your experience about publishing articles from your previously published journal articles and then making it into a book.
Thank you!

Thank you
In my reading of the literature, I found the repeating of the same information concerning both the theories of 1st Language and 2nd Language Acquisition . I am a bit confused about the inclusion of these theories in both L1A and L2A . I need more clarification by providing me with references from books or Journal Articles. I am looking forward to hearing from this online Community of Researchers and Scholars.
Best ,
What should be the criteria to choose a journal for publication? Either impact factor or quartile rank or any other?
What do you suggest?
What, in your opinion, is a reliable, objective, professional and thus really contributing to the effective development of science reviewing of scientific papers, diploma theses, dissertations containing the results of scientific research, text proposals sent to the editorial office for publication as scientific publications, including scientific articles, scientific monographs, etc.?
The reviewing of scientific articles by scientists specialised in a particular field of knowledge, conducted in the editorial process, is essential for maintaining a high level of scientific publications and for the development of scientific journals. However, there are times when it can be problematic and cumbersome for scientists who work in narrow, specific specialisations, fields, scientific disciplines.
On the one hand, it is widely accepted that the evaluation of a scientific paper during the peer review process should take into account and usually does take into account at least a dozen factors concerning both substantive issues, research, reference to the literature, timeliness of research results, correctness of inference, editorial quality, effects on the development of science, etc. The assessment of a scientific work during peer review should be carried out objectively, independently, fairly, according to a high level of assessment standards. Therefore, editorial activity, proofreading, editorial correction, scientific reviews, etc. should be carried out according to the applicable standards in order to maintain a certain level of scientific quality of published scientific work.
On the other hand, on the discussion forum of this Research Gate portal, many questions arise regarding the issue of objectivity and fairness in reviewing scientific papers. Yes, the processes of reviewing scientific texts proposed for publication is a serious issue. The issue of the level of objectivity and independence of reviewing scientific papers can influence the direction of science in narrow specialisations and scientific disciplines. The significant variation in the standards of reviewing processes, editorial processes, etc. between different editors of journals and other types of scientific publications is an important factor in considering the issue of the level of objectivity and the problems that arise in this regard. In order for the editorial and reviewing process to be fully objective and independent, among other things, institutional affiliation should not influence the editors' decision to publish a scientific paper and the assessment in the review of the text, manuscript by the reviewers. Unfortunately, however, it sometimes happens that institutional affiliation is taken into account in such situations.
An important element of maintaining a certain level of objectivity in the reviewing process of scientific papers is the application of the model of more than one review in the editorial boards of scientific journals and editorial boards of book publications and monographs, i.e. the standard of min. Two reviews written independently by other researchers and scientists operating in a given discipline of knowledge and/or who are recognised experts in a given issue. Consequently, the multi-review model is important as it should contribute to the improvement of scientific texts. The double (two reviews) review process for scientific papers raises the issue of the objectivity of the review process and is an important element of the editorial process. In some editorial boards of scientific journals and editorial boards of book publications and monographs, the model of 3 reviews is also applied, in which the third review plays an auxiliary and sometimes a decisive role in relation to the previous two reviews written, in which significantly different assessments appeared, different points of view on the given issue described in the reviewed scientific work.
In addition, there are other factors that are important for researchers and scientists, such as the length of the review process of submitted text proposals for publication and the period after which they receive a response from the editorial office. Sometimes the review and editorial processes take a long time. This is determined by various factors. During the SARS-CoV-2 (Covid-19) coronavirus pandemic, organising conferences in a traditional, desktop format and post-referral publication processes were difficult. An important issue is the communication standards in place in a given scientific publication editorial board. These standards can also vary widely, as some editorial offices write back with an e-mail response regarding the results of an evaluation, a review conducted, an editorial correction or feedback confirming receipt of a text, etc., within a period of several days or so after the text has been sent to the editorial office publishing a particular scientific text. However, there are also editors who write back with a response much later. For scientists and researchers, waiting a long time for a reply can be problematic in a situation where they are continuing their research in a particular field of knowledge, they are receiving new, new research results and the field or scientific discipline in which they are conducting research is developing rapidly.
The issues of the length of the review process, the process of editing a manuscript proposal submitted for publication, the issue of communication between the editorial office and the manuscript author may also be related to the acceptance by authors of journals that are not highly ranked in terms of recognition, reputation, Impact Factor, etc. If journals with a high Impact Factor are difficult to access due to the long review process and high publication costs, some researchers and scientists who want to publish their research results quickly publish in journals without Impact Factor. In addition, some journals without Impact Factor have other positive features, such as the inclusion of published articles in many scientific publication indexing databases and all this under the open access formula without any payment.
In the context of the issue at hand, the editorial requirements set by the editors of scientific journals for the preparation of articles and other texts for publication are also relevant. On the one hand, the standards of reviewing and editorial requirements sometimes vary widely between journals. On the other hand, meeting all editorial requirements in full may limit the issue of innovation in terms of the research conducted and its description and presentation in scientific publications. This is a complex issue that affects many scientific fields, the research conducted and the description of its results in specific types of scientific publications written according to the editorial standards of specific editors and scientific publishers.
Another issue of discussion in the context of the reviewing process of scientific texts is the progressive digitisation of documents. This process should encourage remote communication via e.g. email, and should assist in the editorial process concerning preparatory work prior to the publication of scientific texts. The issue of the progressive digitisation of documents and their increasingly automated digital processing is linked to the use of new ICT information technologies and Industry 4.0, including artificial intelligence, e.g. technology similar to ChatGPT to improve computerised applications and Internet-connected anti-plagiarism platforms used to verify texts during the process of reviewing scientific texts. I wrote about this issue in one of the previously formulated questions on my discussion forum of this Research Gate portal.
Counting on your opinions, on getting to know your personal opinion, on an honest approach to the discussion of scientific issues and not the ready-made answers generated in ChatGPT, I deliberately used the phrase "in your opinion" in the question.
In view of the above, I address the following question to the esteemed community of scientists and researchers:
What, in your opinion, consists in a reliable, objective, professional and thus really contributing to the effective development of science reviewing of scientific works, theses, dissertations containing the results of scientific research, text proposals sent to the editorial office for publication as scientific publications, including scientific articles, scientific monographs, etc.?
In your opinion, what is a reliable, objective, professional review of scientific papers, theses, etc.?
What do you think about this topic?
What is your opinion on this subject?
Please respond,
I invite you all to discuss,
Thank you very much,
Best wishes,
Dariusz Prokopowicz
What is the difference between a journal article and a conference paper?
Can you give me examples?
Hi anyone using typeset for formatting journal articles? Is it worth taking subscription. If any one using please provide your thoughts
Is it legal to give people access to the published journal articles that I have? thanks, Sally
Why are we finding journal articles that use more and more numbered citation style instead of "Author, year" citation?
This is very annoying as while we read, we need to go back all time to the referencing to see who and when this is said
My masters dissertation was a thematic analysis which split neatly into two major themes. I have permission from the journal I'm publishing with to publish in two seperate articles. Whilst large sections of the dissertation seperate neatly into two seperate articles, some segments of the introduction, literature review, methedology and discussion don't.
I'd really appreciate any examples of thematic analysis dissertations which were split into two journal articles as examples. Or alternately advice on spreading the remaining content out over two articles (or if I should alternately condense the material remaining).
Many thanks in advance!
As we know, there exist a section called Abstracting/Indexing of a particular Journal where you can know whether the Journal is SCI/SCIE/ESCI/SCOPUS etc. But if the mentioned section is not listed there on the Journal home site, how do we know its Abstracting/Indexing? Please let me know if any alternatives are available.
Good morning, I am trying to locate scholarly journal articles on best ways to assist learners who have missed or gaps in learning. I am devising a program that will keep learners on a continued path of academic matriculation while still catching them up on foundational concepts missed earlier in life.
Dear Сolleagues,
there is often a mood to write more than a thesis (4 pages), but less than an article (8-10 pages). Such short articles in most cases are of the Letter type. As examples of quality journals that are focused on publishing such articles, I can mention
Please advise high-quality journals (i.e. with a Q1-Q3 quartile in Scopus) oriented towards the publication of Letter-type articles. I am primarily interested in journals with a focus on applied mathematics, computer science and engineering.
Thank you for every meaningful response.
I would be eager to familiarize myself with your beloved journal articles or book chapters dealing with how political agency is constructed, transformed, and negotiated in IR through communication.
I am particularly interested in the contributions that focus on:
- performative approaches to agency;
- moral agency;
- constructing agency in times of security crises.
Thank you in advance!
