Questions related to Manuscripts
It is not only the responsibility of the authors but also the reviewers to assess the manuscript appropriately and help in improving the quality of the finished article. A good reviewer not only assists the editors and the journal but can also benefit the authors, the wider scientific community and the general readership.
27 Jan 2024 marks a significant milestone in our research journey. We received feedback from Environmental Research regarding our manuscript, “Assisted Electrodialysis (AED): A Next-Generation Ion-Exchange Membrane Process.” Although our submission was not selected for publication at this time, we are grateful for the editorial insights.
We extend our sincere thanks to Professor Aijie Wang (Chinese Academy of Sciences) and the editorial team @Environmental Research for their constructive critique. The journal emphasized the importance of providing a clearer context and a testable hypothesis to underscore the study’s significance and novelty. This guidance is invaluable as it lays the groundwork for us to enhance our research.
Keep an eye out for further developments as we advance our research with gratitude and determination.

I submitted a manuscript to journal X and immediately decided to withdraw it. Unfortunately, the editorial board did not respond to my emails for 8 months, and the process went on until it reached the revision stage. The time for revision is over. My question is, can I submit my manuscript to another journal now?
Discoveries, Promises, and Perils of the application of CRISPR technologies to insects
CRISPR gene editing technologies have opened the door to disabling, modifying, and replacing genes in a wide range of organisms including insects. Since its first applications in Drosophila more than a decade ago, CRISPR has been used in diverse insect species to study questions that range from gene function and physiology to development and behavior, as well as to explore its utility for pest control. The time is ripe to evaluate the successes, the failures, and the perils associated with the application of these technologies to insects. We seek submissions related to all aspects of gene editing. These include, but are not limited to: insights gained regarding fundamental questions of biology (e.g., physiology, metabolism, development, behavior); application of these technologies to pest control and their ethical and ecological implications; and technical advances (e.g., for efficient gene editing, gene replacement and gene insertion; for identifying and minimizing off-target effects; for spatiotemporal-specific gene editing; for high-throughput functional genomics screen, etc.). We encourage researchers to share their findings, insights, expertise, and precautionary principles on these game-changing technologies, gained from their application to any insect species.

As Editorial member of peer reviewed journals, I have been alerted to a new malpractice in the area of scientific publications. Currently, an increasing number of journals have been targeted by some organisations that aim to manipulate the peer review process, known as paper mills.
What’s a paper mill?
A paper mill is an organisation that offers services to individuals that include:
- Writing a manuscript on their behalf and submitting to a journal of their choice;
- Writing a manuscript which the paper mill submits to a journal, which when accepted, they sell the authorship of (with varying fees depending on the order of the author);
- Writing an article which an individual will pay to add superfluous references to, in order to boost their citation score;
- Installing reviewers into a journal site, who commit reviewer fraud.
Paper mills operate globally, and there are academics from across the world involved. Papers can be perfectly acceptable research papers, or they may be research papers where the research was never conducted, or they do not make sense to the reader.
There are procedures to prevent paper mill activities; however, it is our responsibility, as member of the research community, to engage in ethical behavior, and to promote fairness and rigor in research and dissemination activities.

I have a question regarding your recent manuscript submission experiences, especially with Elsevier. It appears that there has been an increase in desk rejections, a decrease in available reviewers, and longer review times❗❓
While the impatience caused by COVID-19 and the rise of AI-driven research have contributed to the surge in paper submissions, I'm curious to know if there could be any political factors influencing these trends in specific countries 🤔
I would appreciate hearing your thoughts on whether you have observed similar trends and your perspective on the potential influence of politics in this context.
After two rounds of revision, the status of my manuscript has changing from "Awaiting Reviewer Invitation" to "Awaiting Reviewer Assignment" within a span of three months. This change has occurred multiple times. Does anyone have any insights into why this is happening?
My paper has been with the editor for almost an year. I have sent emails asking about the update of the review and i was replied saying that my manuscript is Editor assigned. Reminder has been sent to editor to expedite the procession of my work. Is this normal? How long should I wait?
I received the following comment from the editor "The reviewers recommend reconsideration of your manuscript following minor revision and modification" and i don't really know how to feel about it.
What do you think?
Recently I have been facing issues where during manuscript submissions, the editorial manager platform is getting stuck in the 'building PDF stage' resulting in an incomplete submission. Is anyone else facing this same problem? Is there any way to troubleshoot this?
Hello Everyone!
I have been having troubles with submitting my manuscript (word document) via Editorial Manager as it gives an error feedback without building the PDF. Has anyone encountered this problem lately? And if anyone can assist with this problem, I will be grateful.
I am not able to upload or send privately my manuscript. I have been trying for a few weeks now and have had no success. Can you help me?
I'm scared for security reasons, I have been looking for an easy way to format my manuscript for the european journal of pharmaceutics and biopharmaceutics, and others... does anybody have any recommendations for Scispace or other tools..?
What are the best ways to organize references in your academic journal manuscript?

English is not my first language, so I must rely on Grammarly to correct my manuscript. Recently, an American college student was on academic probation for using Grammarly in her assigned homework, which caught my attention. AI-generated manuscripts are considered non-acceptable by reputable scientific journals. Should Grammarly-assisted writing be regarded as an AI-generated one? What is the policy of the high-impact journals?
How to avoid it? I have an accepted manuscript in applied geophysics journal from springer (https://www.springer.com/journal/11770) according to my corresponding author. However, I discovered that this paper has been withdrwan from the journal and not issued in the previously-mentioned issue by him due to personal reasons, thus I really blame both the editorial board and the corresponding author for this. I am asking relevant researchers whom faced such a serious issue before to give their sincere opinion and I will accept, listen to all critisims and follow your guidence too.
Space exploration presents unique challenges for human health, particularly concerning oral hygiene and overall well-being. The microgravity environment of space significantly impacts various bodily systems, including oral health. This manuscript examines the intricate interplay between oral health and space conditions, shedding light on the complexities involved in maintaining astronauts' well-being.
please suggest free , scopus and /or pubmed indexed journal related to manuscript titled "aeronautics and oral health?" thanks.
Hi
I have written an article with great effort, but no matter how hard I try to publish it in a journal, I get rejected due to the outdated topic. I wanted to know if it's okay to print it as a preprint?
I know that all of the statistics and data are correct in the article.
Ithenticate detect only 14% plagiarism in the manuscript but the main issue is the outdated topic.
Is it ethical to preprint an article that is rejected from several journals?
If i have lots of preprint does it make my CV look low quality?
Thank you in advance for responses.
If you are unable to do any specifies as a reviewer for the manuscript, you have to choose between a major revision submitting one specific point, accepting the manuscript, or not accepting to review the manuscript. But building up your opinion on background or rumor or whatever type of thoughts that you are building your opinion on is not appropriate and this is not the target of the review. The target is to modify the manuscript to look better and not be rejected and show off your English language using the thesaurus of Microsoft Word. The review does not provide a single specific point. See below
"The manuscript exhibits notable deficiencies, and the overall caliber, encompassing the value of the scholarly contribution, the robustness of the methodology, the clarity of presentation, the depth of discussion, and the formulation of conclusive statements, does not meet the standard requisites for publication in a scholarly journal."
In an manuscript, I need to cite a paper. Since the article was recently published and the page number information has not been updated in Web of Science, so I can't get a full quote for it. how should I deal with this question?
Because the article could be searched in Web of Science, I can't ignore this article.
Could I just cite it with the information already available, but without the page number information?
or any other good ways?
Hello everyone! I want to know about research square. Is it okay to submit manuscript to reseach sqaure before submitting to a journal. Actually I have no idea about research square
I submitted my manuscript to a reputed Springer journal nine months ago. The status has been "with Editor for review” more than 8 months. Does it mean that it is under review stage?
Dear Colleagues,

Hi. I had written a manuscript on Bibliometric Analysis related to oral cancer last year. Since then I had sent it to multiple journals only to get rejected. I request you all to please give me some insights on how to improve the manuscript. As one of the reviewer's comment mentioned that the study adds nothing new to the existing knowledge. The data was analyzed for year of publication, leading countries and their collaboration, source, number of citations, list of highly cited articles and keywords plus with Biblioshiny application.
Dear Sir/madam,
We have a manuscript which is not publicate in a journal. You should cancelled your system because of dublication results. We will send a new journal please urgent cancellation need.

I submitted my manuscript in the Journal Frontiers in Microbiology and responded to all the comments/questions of the reviewers. Now, both the reviewers have mentioned this statement on the submitted manuscript 'The Reviewer has finalized their report and endorsed the publication of this manuscript.' What does this statement mean?
How do you perceive a journal that consistently invites you to review manuscripts but rejects all your submissions?
I submitted a manuscript to a springer journal the progress of my manuscript was as technical check passed and waiting to be assigned to an editor, ten reviewers invited, 2 accepted, one reviewers report received now the status is back to technical check passed and waiting to be assigned to an editor. Can anyone please help me out.
Can anyone tell me some journals related to industrial design to publish a design thesis in a journal based in Pakistan? Or if there are any journals from abroad as well.
Hello

Hi colleagues,
I am working on a travel medicine study and would like to draw a map using GIS software as follows:
The map should show the number of deaths that occurred among travelers to different countries by country of origin. So, we have three columns:
Country of origin, country of death, number of death
Please give me any visualization ideas. It will be a map in our manuscript.
The following map shows the number of deaths only for travelers to Peru as an example, but in my case, I will have the data for many countries, not only one.

Dear Colleagues,
I am preparing new manuscript. There are new plant species checklist. Can you suggest any article about new plant species checklist any period (Exp. 1990-2010) any area (country, state)?
Best wishes,

I submitted a manuscript to a journal recently, and although their standard procedure involves two reviewers, I received feedback from three. While two of the reviewers provided positive feedback and suggested minimal or no changes, the third was notably critical. While I acknowledge and agree with some comments that could enhance the manuscript (though they don't represent significant shortcomings), certain remarks were either irrelevant or challenging to comprehend—potentially due to the reviewer's non-native English proficiency. Additionally, certain points he raised were already been addressed in the manuscript. That reviewer consistently labeled every section of the manuscript as “poor”, including the results section, which was carefully written following APA style guidelines, with a balance between statistics and descriptions to ensure readers neither felt overwhelmed by statistics nor missed key information. He recommended the rewriting of the manuscript and as a result, the editor has requested a revision. Is it common for reviewers to lack expertise in certain areas, leading to concerns that may not be considered constructive criticism? How much weight editors give to such comments in revision?
Recently, I have sumitted my article to a journal (23 June), the editor suggested that major revision, the two reviewers are also interested in my article and ask some questions for my experiment. I have sumitted my revised manuscript (27 July), then the editor told me I need to revise my manuscript thoroughly due to the language issues. In addition, the editor recommdated the journal editing service and emphasized that my article may be rejected due to the language issues. Due to the expensive cost of the journal editing service, I would like to take a cheaper editing service. I wonder that if I don't use the journal editing service, will the editor approve my article? Or should I withdraw the article and resubmit to other journal?
The contents of the letter are as follows:
Thank you for your submission . Our impression is that the above-mentioned manuscript could become suitable for publication in ***. However, the quality and clarity of the language used in the manuscript would benefit from a thorough revision. Implementing these changes will enable our readers to focus on the scientific content of your manuscript. You might consider using a professional language polishing service, such as *** Language Editing Services.
Please note that your submission may be rejected due to language issues. For one example, the logic of the Introduction Section is poor. Please revise the manuscript thoroughly, and we will decide whether or not the revised version can be sent out for external review.
Dear all,
I have submitted the manuscript in Journal of Engineering Science and Technology Review (JESTR) since 10 months ago.
I have tried to send email to the editor many times, but there is no any responses.
Therefore, I would like to withdraw my manuscript since I am not sure whether the journal is still active or not.
The submission system is a bit poor, there is no option to withdraw the manuscript .
Could any one give please me an advise about this situation?
Thank you,
KM
Dear all,
We have submitted a manuscript for publication that presents a systematic review and meta-analysis evaluating the influence of a gene polymorphism on cancer risk. The study involved the selection of published case-control studies from various countries across all continents, comparing the allele frequencies of a specific gene polymorphism in populations with cancer to those of healthy subjects.
The reviewer has requested "External validity is missing, please provide."
However, I am unfamiliar with what constitutes external validity in this context.
Is it necessary to add more than two corresponding authors to a single article? What is the ethical way of selecting the corresponding author in a manuscript?
Dear colleagues,
let me tell you a bizarre story about the article I supposedly published this year in Global Engineers and Technologists Review a as the first author of a larger author team. It was back in 2001-2002 when EGI at Uni. of Utah, my research institute, received an invitation to form a research team with scientists from Baku, Azerbaijan and study the Kura Valley. Richardson Allen, Chelsea Christensen and Benjamin Welker and I join forces with Akper A Feyzullayev, Fakhraddin A Kadirov and G A Zeynalov and did the study. When we wrote a research manuscript and submitted it to journal, one of the reviewers contacted me. It turned out that Azeri group cooperated with him in the past and published an article in a local journal with author group having him as the first author. I cited this article and that's how he was invited to review and realized what this group did to him. I apologized, telling him that I did not know this and withdrew the manuscript from the journal and decided not to publish it. I have not cooperated with this group since then. Thanks to Research Gate I have learnt that this group used the same scam, this time using me as the first author and adding all my former colleagues from the withdrawn article as co-authors. I do not know what to do with this case, except letting all folks following my Research Gate profile know about this scam. Because the Azeri group did not work with us for such a long time, they have not realize that Chelsea Christensen got married and changed her surname. They used her maiden name.
I hope that none of you will ever face this type of scam. It makes me very angry.
With best regards,
Michal

attached together is the article.
The first time I encountered ethical concerns was when a reviewer insisted on having his unrelated eight research papers cited in the revised manuscript. The question arises regarding the ethicality of such an act, especially when it is approved by the editor. What will be your course of action when you encounter this unwanted thing?
Dear colleagues, I am currently in a search of Q1-Q2 journal that is specialized on general mycology and is free of publication or any other charge. I would like to publish manuscripts on ecology of mycorrhizal and plant-associated fungi. Could you suggest any?

International Journal of Rock Mechanics and Mining Sciences(IJRMMS)
The paper was submitted on September 13, 2022, and was rejected on January 11, 2024.
During the 485 days review cycle, there was no response, no review or suggestions made on the content of the paper, and it was ultimately rejected as not meeting the scope of publication in the journal.
Several authors waited for 485 days, only to receive an unapologetic and irresponsible response below.
Dear Professor XXX,
Thank you for submitting your manuscript to International Journal of Rock Mechanics and Mining Sciences.
I regret to inform you that the reviewers recommend against publishing your manuscript, and I must therefore reject it. My comments, and any reviewer comments, are below.
We appreciate you submitting your manuscript to International Journal of Rock Mechanics and Mining Sciences and thank you for giving us the opportunity to consider your work.

International Journal of Rock Mechanics and Mining Sciences
Editor and Reviewer comments:
This manuscript is primarily focused on geophysical imaging and processing techniques and in my opinion is outside the scope of IJRMMS. The work presented is largely mathematical with little rock mechanics. My recommendation is to encourage the authors to transfer their manuscript to Elsevier's Journal of Applied Geophysics, where it is better suited both in terms of interests of the readership and securing knowledgeable reviewers.
Whilst a growing number of archives are digitalising their manuscript collections enabling easier access for researchers, is it still imperative that they also continue to keep and preserve all the original items Or just a selection?

We are working on a manuscript for groundwater potential by considering different raster layers like Geomorphology, Geology, Soil texture, Elevation, Slope, Drainage density, Lineament density, Topographic Position Index, Topographic Wetness Index, Profile curvature, etc. Some of these parameters like Geomorphology, Geology, and Soil texture are qualitative variables while the others are quantitative variables. Hence, it is difficult to perform a collinearity test of these variables in their original form. So, I thanks in advance the experts in this field to help me in finding out the solution. My question is whether there is any specific technique to perform a collinearity test of taking both qualitative and quantitative variables? Whether the original data be resampled then a collinearity test be performed?
Hello everyone,

I have submitted my manuscript to the Hindawi journal five months ago. I have revised the manuscript two times: the first major revision and the second minor revision. After submitting the minor revision, the status changed to under review and pending approval. After waiting 20 days for pending approval, the status now is reviewers invited. What will be the reason, and what will be the result? Please help me.

I submitted a manuscript to a university journal in Lithuania on 9th Sept 2023. The editor assigned 11 reviewers. One of the reviewers has submitted my manuscript to an Indian university Turnitin repository, which was not required by the editor. When lodged the complaint to the editor about it, he said that this is a baseless accusation. Although Turnitin similarity report was only 5% during submission. The Indian University is not able to delete the source paper ID. What should I do to deal with this issue?
How do you know that a journal is a predatory journal: is it due to unsolicited emails requesting for manuscripts or the speed at which the manuscripts are published or what?

It's an important query regarding the plagiarism checking of research papers.
Significantly, the process of conducting research and writing a thesis is a fundamental part of academic development, and it is typically guided by experienced academic supervisors. In many educational institutions, especially in Africa, students often embark on the journey of academic research with the expectation of receiving critical guidance from their supervisors. However, a growing concern has emerged in recent years regarding the quality and nature of academic supervision, especially in the context of thesis and manuscript preparation (For instance, a colleague recently shared his experience with me).
Substantially, in the space of academic, supervisors play a pivotal role in the success of their students' research endeavors (see e.g.,Jibao et al., 2017; Bayona-Oré, 2021 with DOI no: 10.36681/tused.2021.90) . They are expected to provide technical guidance, mentorship, and critical feedback to ensure that the research aligns with academic standards and objectives (see Bacwayo et al., 2o17 with DOI: 10.18488/journal.61/2017.5.3/61.3.29.39). The supervisor-student relationship is built on trust, with the understanding that the supervisor will offer support and guidance throughout the research process (Again, see Bayona-Oré, 2021 with DOI no: 10.36681/tused.2021.90).
Despite the ideal expectations, many students, especially in Africa, face challenges in their interactions with academic supervisors. One common issue is the lack of sufficient guidance, leaving students to navigate the complexities of research largely on their own. This can result in delays, frustration, and a decreased quality of research output. Additionally, the mismatch between expectations and actual supervision can lead to students feeling unsupported and undervalued.
Incontrovertibly, in Africa, it is not uncommon for supervisors to request or demand that they be listed as the corresponding author when students prepare manuscripts based on their theses. While this practice may raise ethical concerns, it is important to analyze the motivations and implications of this phenomenon. Furthermore, when reviewers' comments are received, the burden of responding to these comments often falls on the student, creating a paradox in which authorship and responsibility are misaligned.
At the back of this, the issue of academic supervision and authorship raises ethical questions that merit further exploration. What are the ethical responsibilities of supervisors in guiding their students? Should students who conduct the majority of the research and manuscript preparation retain corresponding authorship? How can institutions and academic communities address these ethical dilemmas to ensure fairness and transparency?
This discussion calls for a critical examination of the dynamics of academic supervision and authorship, focusing on how to enhance the support provided to students. It invites scholars, students, and academic institutions to reflect on the prevailing practices, ethical implications, and potential reforms that could ensure a more equitable and nurturing research environment.
I, eagerly await your invaluable contribution (s) regarding this important academic discussion. Thank you all....
Please, can I use AI to do proofreading for my article? is that will affect on my manuscript plagiarism? any one has experience in that?
The scientific society has changed so much since I started my research career, although it is not too long.
I have tried to submit a review article on bioavailable heavy metals but having difficulty in getting a suitable journal that can accept.
Please, any idea on how i can successfully get the paper published?
You can write a manuscript using ChatGPT, which barely be identified by humans or other software. These may mislead scientists and science, especially the research field.
It is not impossible that people trust ChatGPT than research findings.
What precautions should the scientific community take?
Imagine: an academic magazine states that it will review a submitted manuscript with one of the 4 following responses:
accepted
accepted after modification
rejected, but may be submitted after major review
definititvely rejected
What does it mean when the editor responds to your manuscript by stating that she "adopts the review of the reviewers", when those are "rejected" and "major revision / reject".
Also: is it normal for editors not to qualify manuscripts unambiguously?
Hello, everyone!
I need the names and full addresses of the five academics in the field of medicinal plants. I need them as a requirement for submitting my manuscript to an international journal.
I am interested in people's experience with publishing pre-prints on Authorea, especially if this was done through a publisher at the stage of manuscript submission. I'm planning to submit to a Wiley journal, and they offer an opt in service of publishing the pre-print on Authorea when (and if?) the paper is sent for review.
The guidance in the submission portal is posted below.
Does anyone here have experience with this type of service that they are willing to share? Was it a favourable or adverse experience? I've read online that some journals published the pre-print even when it was not sent out for review, and that they refuse to take it down when asked by the authors. Even though the submission portal claims this won't be the case, I am not sure it can be trusted. Anyone have any thoughts?
Will this impede my chances of publishing in a different journal should the paper be rejected (before or after review)?
Many thanks!

Preprint your manuscript while it’s under review
Wiley’s Under Review service, powered by Authorea, is a free, optional initiative to streamline the early sharing of research.
- Share early Your submitted manuscript will be publicly posted as a preprint and assigned a DOI so that you can cite it, share it, and get feedback ahead of publication.
- Open up the peer review process A peer-review timeline is displayed and updated in real time while your work is under consideration. Learn more at the Under Review FAQ.
Please note: Preprints are not posted until they have been sent for peer review by the journal. Once posted, you cannot change your selection at later stages of the publication process or if your manuscript is rejected by the journal. Learn more at the Under Review FAQ.
During peer review, an invited reviewers is suggested to finish reading all of a manuscript from its title to supplimentary materials, so that the comments made will not embarrass the authors who have spent so much time writing. But in my own opinion, the reviewers should do more than just 'read through' so that the comments made by him/her will less likely to miss out information and embarrass the authors. Reviewers may read the article multiple times to be familiar with the contents, and make objective and detailed comments as possible. What are your opinions?
I recently uploaded a manuscript to my profile, the document includes a reference list in APA forma, however in the tab for references in the site states "This research doesn’t cite any other publications". Any insights?
For submission of a review article the journal is asking for a graphical abstract. The problem I am facing is the images in the manuscript are none of mine. I took the copyrights for all of them. Now if I want some of them to use in the graphical abstract as well is it justified since I have not encountered any citation in graphical abstract.
Academics in social sciences; what would you think about waiting more than 8 months after the acceptance of your manuscript in a well-known SSCI-indexed journal published by the Taylor & Francis Group?
The answer from the journal addresses the reason due to "a large backlog of manuscripts" in the system. Then, why not consider publishing an announcement beforehand on the website about this issue?
How can we talk about progress in science if we proceed at this pace?
The most common reason is: "The content of the manuscript is not suitable for this journal (out of scope)", even though there may exist similar papers in the recent issues of that journal. Above all, the same journals may also assign similar papers to me as a reviewer.
Rather than getting to the basis of these arguments, I am simply looking for some signal processing or biomedical journals that may follow a more logical review process.
Please suggest some journals, if you may know.
How many rounds of peer-review do you consider appropriate for the same journal? What happens if you adjust your manuscript accordingly after the 1st round (major changes) but you receive "brand new" major comments, as if your revision had to start all over again?

MDPI journals provide 100CHF vouchers or so to the reviewers. Can they be used cummulatively?
I am having a problem uploading a manuscript to a journal in the Elsevier system. There are several figures and graphics in my study. The manuscript is returned as follows:
"1) Please place figures and tables next to the relevant text in manuscript and don't upload figures and tables twice as an e-component in the system.
2) Please upload your appendix as e-component in the system."
I didn't understand what he wanted. Is there anyone who can help?
Manuscript Title: Impact of Machining Parameters on Surface Roughness and Machining Forces in Al7075 Turning with MQL and Cold Fluid
Dear colleagues from the field of (Cognitive) Literary Studies,
I conducted an empirical study on "Waiting for Godot" during my time as a graduate student and completed the initial manuscript of the article in ca. 2011/2012. I have since moved into TEFL and don't see when, or if ever, I will finish the article and submit it. However, the empirical data has been collected and analyzed, the manuscript is written, and the results are, I think, relevant to Literary Studies (in particular: Cognitive Literary Studies, literary studies on Samuel Beckett). A summary of the article's content is given below. A conference poster on the study is here:
I am guessing that the article is 75-80% complete, although some of the literature is out of date by now. I am looking for a co-author or collaborator to finish the article and hand it in. I would be responsible for handling the empirical section of the article. I'd be happy to send you the manuscript, so that you can make your own assessment. A possible venue for publication would be "Scientific Study of Literature". I have published in peer-reviewed journals with De Gruyter and John Benjamins since.
All the best,
Andreas Wirag

Working title: A Cognitive Analysis of Waiting for Godot
Summary: The study employed cognitive action scripts, which are mental representations of stereotypical activities, to contrast the characters' actions in the play with the audience's scripted expectations. A questionnaire survey was conducted to generate scripts of audience expectations for the characters' various activities. The analysis demonstrates a disconnect between the audience's scripts, which are linear/logical, and the characters' actions, which violate these scripted expectations. The study concludes that action scripts provide a basis for understanding the characters' behavior; their actions and activities appear absurd/illogical/non-teleological when contrasted with the audience's scripts (cf. Theater of the Absurd).
Hi, I did some scRNAseq as well as protein expression analysis on the same sample, however, the RNA level is not consistent with the protein level. How do people usually explain this piece of data in manuscripts? Thanks!
Tress et al. (2014) present a step-by-step present a step-by-step guide on how to write a paper for a successful publication in a peer-reviewed journal. They propose a ten-step approach to the entire process of paper writing from preparation, manuscript writing, and submission to the stages of peer-review and revision. The steps include defining paper objectives, authorship, journal selection, writing routines, requirements of manuscript sections, editing and proof-reading as well as how to communicate successfully in submission and review.
Authors with a ten-step guide on how to write a paper that gets published in
a peer-reviewed journal.
Step 1. Define the objective, type and title of the paper.
Step 2. Decide on co-authors.
Step 3. Define the audience and select the correct journal.
Step 4. Write for readers.
Step 5. Write in short, but regular sessions.
Step 6. Write a well-focused and clearly structured manuscript.
Step 7. Edit the text for clarity,-logic, language and length.
Step 8. Ask colleagues to read the manuscript critically.
Step 9. Communicate clearly in submission, review and revision.
Step 10. If a manuscript is rejected, do not give up.

My manuscript was accepted in an Elsevier journal on Sep. 26, 2018. The corrected proof is available online since Oct. 5, 2018 but I haven't received the final version yet. At the same time, I see more recent publications that are available as final versions. What could be the reasons?
A manuscript is a research work that a researcher writes and submits to journal publications. Manuscripts are reviewed by peer reviewers assigned by journal editors to maintain the quality of the publication. Consequently, published manuscripts will help other researchers in the field to understand the research methodologies, experiments, and results of the work.

The individual under consideration has displayed a remarkable prevalence of hypersensitivity-related disorders, a matter of increasing importance in the field of medical research. Consequently, my forthcoming publication aims to delve into the potential utility of animal models in unraveling the complexities of hypersensitivity illnesses. This exploration holds promise in advancing our understanding of these conditions and potentially paving the way for improved diagnostic and therapeutic strategies. In light of this, I would greatly appreciate any recommendations for journals that specialize in the field of hypersensitivity research, where this work may find a fitting and engaged readership eager to contribute to this important dialogue.
Do some journals accept the manuscripts of scholars, who have a lot of publications, more quickly than beginners, who have no or less number of publications, irrespective of the quality of the manuscript?
Dear all,
How much paper reviews must a researcher write for journals to compensate the reviewing effort by the journals necessary for his/her publications?
Vincent Raoult concludes from his statistics: " I recommend scientists aim to conduct at least one review per publication they produce. This should ensure that the peer review system continues to function as intended." (see paper attached).
I don't agree with Vincent. I never counted the reviewer reports I received for my submissions, but I counted my papers. And each of them required at least two reviews with the real number lying probable close to 10, when including rejected manuscripts. In cases where more than two corresponding authors appear on the list, the number of necessary reviews is of course reduced. Half of my papers include two or three corresponding authors, which makes then something like 3-4 in average.
What is your estimation or your knowlegde about this?

I need to combine multiple images into one figure for a manuscript, but when I do this I lose clarity of the final figure.
What is your preferred way to combine images and keep them clear in the end?
“The Essence of ‘E’: Unveiling the Infinitely Infinite” for your consideration. Enclosed, you will find a comprehensive exploration into the enigmatic concept of “E,” a cosmic force that transcends the boundaries of finite and infinite existence.
This manuscript represents a labor of passion and dedication, offering a unique perspective on the role of “E” in the universe. From its profound cosmic order to its paradoxical nature of being both infinitesimal and infinitely powerful, this work delves deep into the heart of a concept that defies human comprehension.
The content is structured meticulously, with an abstract that provides a concise overview of the manuscript’s scope, an engaging introduction that draws the reader into the subject matter, and detailed sections that explore the mass of “E” and the cataclysmic events it undergoes. The manuscript concludes with a thought-provoking summary of our journey into the infinitely infinite.
I believe this manuscript would make a valuable addition to [Company/Organization Name]’s collection of publications, given its unique perspective and the depth of research invested in it. It has the potential to appeal to a wide audience interested in cosmology, astrophysics, and the mysteries of the universe.
I would be delighted to discuss any further steps or provide additional information as needed. I eagerly await your response
I am thinking of uploading my preprint manuscript of my Chapter in just-published Yukio Adachi and Makoto Usami (eds.), Governance for a Sustainable Future: The State of the Art in Japan (Springer, 2023), on my ResearchGate page, but I have no idea how to link ResearchgGate to Springer book site.
