Hello, I would be grateful for help with resolving the RG publication removal.
Upon pressing the provided RG doi, it shows the error message as below:
------------------------------------
This content has been removed by the author
Sorry, the content associated with this DOI is no longer available on ResearchGate.

Despite having the work published and the doi still presumably existing.
Thank you.
Relevant answer
Answer
Now I understand the problem. The DOI generated by ResearchGate is no longer connected to the file. Note that DOIs are identificators for files (or "digital objects" in general), not for publications, although very often they are treated like identification numbers for publications. See the help page https://help.researchgate.net/hc/en-us/articles/14293044585745-ResearchGate-DOIs: "Once a ResearchGate DOI has been generated for a research item, you’re no longer able to edit that research item. Instead, you should remove the research completely, re-upload it with the edits and generate a new DOI." I think you can solve this problem by deleting the current DOI (see "How do I edit my research item's details?" in https://help.researchgate.net/hc/en-us/articles/14293081125777-Reviewing-editing-and-featuring-your-research) and create a new one.

Hi,
I would like to publish research paper in journal that is in Scopus or Web of science data bases. Reserach is in education sciences and is a quantitative research. I don't have any budget (very limited budget) so it probbaly can not be an open access publication. As publication is part of a project i am willing to sacrifice journal quality (it can be in Q3 or Q4) over acceptence rate and review time. Maybe somone can recomend some journal that would align with my needs?

As Editorial member of peer reviewed journals, I have been alerted to a new malpractice in the area of scientific publications. Currently, an increasing number of journals have been targeted by some organisations that aim to manipulate the peer review process, known as paper mills. What’s a paper mill? A paper mill is an organisation that offers services to individuals that include: - Writing a manuscript on their behalf and submitting to a journal of their choice; - Writing a manuscript which the paper mill submits to a journal, which when accepted, they sell the authorship of (with varying fees depending on the order of the author); - Writing an article which an individual will pay to add superfluous references to, in order to boost their citation score; - Installing reviewers into a journal site, who commit reviewer fraud. Paper mills operate globally, and there are academics from across the world involved. Papers can be perfectly acceptable research papers, or they may be research papers where the research was never conducted, or they do not make sense to the reader. There are procedures to prevent paper mill activities; however, it is our responsibility, as member of the research community, to engage in ethical behavior, and to promote fairness and rigor in research and dissemination activities.

"I am currently working on a narrative review article for my publication as an under grad about oncogenes and their expression. I have written up to 7,000 words so far, but I am not even halfway through my review. I am feeling overwhelmed and unsure about how to proceed. I am considering either cutting down on some of the information or removing some of the headings that I have written. I would appreciate your guidance on how to approach this. Thank you."
Relevant answer
Answer
I recommend that you select the journals you are interested in submitting your article to and read their guidelines carefully. As mentioned in the comment above, they most commonly require between 7,000 and 9,000 words (including references). As you already have the minimum and still need to explore the literature review, I recommend that you reduce what you have already written to a maximum of 3,000 words. In general, a structure with an abstract, introduction, theoretical framework and methodology is fine at 3,000 words. Although it's sometimes complicated, it's a good exercise in synthesis and it's important to remember that the main part of the study has to be the review and not the theoretical-conceptual aspects. I wish you every success in your research.

I am communicating with other researchers (related to my field of specialization which is biology, fungal diversity, effective and beneficial microbes), and I am sending them this request:

Symbiotic Fungal Biodiversity, Structure, Role, and Benefits to their Host Plants - Discovering Microbes with Potential Agricultural Significance: A Literature Probe If you have recent related research for publication, you MAY CONSIDER CITING these articles too. I am presently working on similar research undertakings, if you have recent publication that I MAY CITE, please let me know."
My question is, is it ethical for me to invite other researchers to cite my research works?
Relevant answer
Answer
I'm not sure this would really be viewed as unethical, but I would consider it a inappropriate were I to receive such a communication.
However it would be fine if you sent the references and just said you were sending because you thought these publications might be of interest to them. They can then choose whether or not to cite them.

In the Step 5 of the submission process:
Nomination of Four International Experts
You are required to nominate four experts in the subject of your article. These experts:
at least two of them must be from a different country to you*
these two must have institutional email addresses (i.e. not free public email addresses)
must not be from your* institution
must not be members of any Inderscience journal editorial board
must have valid and working email addresses (verified by you *)
We will not process your article if your entries are not experts in the subject of your submission, or if the email addresses entered are not valid.
The purpose of this request is to ensure your familiarity with the latest research literature in the field and to identify suitable experts who can be added to our Experts Database. I'm looking for an appropriate journal in which to publish the dissertation research of one of my undergraduate Psychology students. This student died by suicide recently, so I wanted to get their dissertation published to honour them, and as a gesture for their family. Is The European Educational Research Journal (EERJ) a paid publication?
Relevant answer
Answer
The journal “European Educational Research Journal” is a so-called hybrid journal. Meaning that they publish according to the subscription-based model (publishing for free and only accessible for those with a license or willingness to buy the paper). You can choose the option for open access, and you ‘normally’ need to pay a fee (see for APC’s enclosed file).
If your country is listed in the so-called Research4Life list ( https://www.research4life.org/access/eligibility/ ) then you are eligible for a discount or possibly a waiver to publish free of charge https://journals.sagepub.com/author-instructions/EER#OpenAccess

Hi,
we have submitted to a number of Elsevier journals recently - and every time we pick a new journal, the editorialmanager web page requires us to register from scratch - i.e. we needed to enter a lot of information each time, instead of having a common profile (typically it takes at least 20 minutes to enter personal data, scientific fields, priorities, keywords, gender statement, and so on). I personally have found it annoying.
What is your opinion?

Scientific researchers who publish their findings, perspectives and/or ideas first are often cited preferentially. Researchers in many fields affiliated with smaller institutions or those lacking significant political influence within journals may not always receive timely consideration. This issue undermines equality in research by perpetuating unfairness and unequal access to publication resources. It is essential to explore strategies that ensure equitable opportunities for all researchers, regardless of their affiliation or political clout.

I just failed about my PhD application (Business field). I think one of the reasons is "No Publication". But I have limited access of academic journals (usually use Google Scholar) and no connection with any scholar, how can I publish a paper and raise my paper's accessibility?
Thank you very much!
Relevant answer
Answer
As we appreciate Wolfgang R. Dick , publishing a paper without an academic background can be challenging but not impossible. In my experience, you could consider the following to increase your chances of getting your work published and improving its accessibility:
Begin by selecting a topic within your field of interest that addresses an underexplored area or presents a novel perspective. Conduct thorough research using accessible resources like Google Scholar to identify gaps in existing literature. Once you've identified a compelling topic, focus on producing a high-quality paper that adheres to the standards of academic publishing. Craft clear arguments supported by evidence, and ensure your paper contributes meaningful insights to the field.
Consider targeting reputable open-access journals, as they provide broader accessibility to your work without the barriers of subscription fees. Platforms like the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) can help you identify suitable journals within your field. Additionally, explore preprint servers such as arXiv or SSRN, where you can share your work before formal peer review. Leveraging these platforms can increase the visibility of your research and facilitate engagement with other scholars.
Collaboration can also enhance your publishing prospects. While you may lack direct connections with scholars, consider collaborating with colleagues or professionals in your field who possess academic backgrounds or publishing experience. Collaborators can offer valuable feedback, guidance, and potentially access to academic networks. Finally, actively promote your published work through social media, academic networking sites, and participation in relevant conferences or workshops.
I wish you the best of luck,
Shafik

IYH Dear Riddhi Shah
V neat idea. FWIW I have two suggestions
If you already have access to digital twin data :
a) "Autonomous Decision-Making in Digital Twin-Enabled Supply Chains": This paper addresses the research gap of autonomous decision-making in supply chains by leveraging digital twin technology. It explores how AI algorithms can analyze data from digital twins to make autonomous decisions regarding inventory management, demand forecasting, and supply chain optimization. The paper could highlight the challenges and opportunities of implementing AI for decision-making in digital twin-enabled supply chains, thus closing the research gap of autonomous decision-making in complex manufacturing environments.
Perhaps simpler:
b) "Optimizing Production Processes in Cyber-Physical Systems using Reinforcement Learning": This paper delves into the research gaps of applying reinforcement learning techniques to optimizing production processes w/i cyber-physical systems (CPS) in the manufacturing sector. While there has been previous research on using AI algorithms for optimization, the specific focus on RL in dynamic manufacturing environments explores how AI algorithms can learn and adapt to dynamic manufacturing environments, optimizing resource allocation, production scheduling, and workflow management. The paper could eg include case studies showcasing the effectiveness of reinforcement learning in improving efficiency and productivity in the manufacturing sector.

How can researchers effectively tailor their writing style and language to different audiences, such as peers, policymakers, or the general public?
Relevant answer
Answer
The principles of clear writing are well established. My specific tips for research writing include
- Avoid acronyms unless they are well known (WHO, GP, AI).
- Use words that people can understand. So if you are measuring depression using the PSQ scale, name the scale in your methods section but subsequently refer to "depression scores" not "PSQ scores".
- Use simple sentence constructions.
- Put the main sentence first: Prior to enrolment, patients were interviewed by the first author. Should be Before they were enrolled, the first author interviewed the patients.
- Remember that your readers may not be familiar with the jargon of your speciality.
- Never use a big word when there is a small word. A wonderful technical editor once replaced "therefore" with "so" throughout a paper I had written. I had to agree that it was simpler and neater. (We then had a stimulating exchange of letters on style and punctuation.)
Above all, be curious when you read papers. Try to identify writing that is hard to follow and see if you can rephrase it better. And likewise, when you are reading a paper that is really making sense, see if you can identify features of the writing that are helping.

I am curious about the possibility of obtaining an honorary status from a university or research institute for the purpose of publication, allowing me to use their affiliation until I secure a post-doc or research position in a university or institution. Is this feasible?
Relevant answer
Answer
Securing an honorary affiliation for post-PhD publications is possible in some cases, but it ultimately depends on the policies and guidelines of the institution or organization you are seeking affiliation with. Here are some points to consider:
  1. Benefits of Honorary Affiliation: Honorary affiliation can provide credibility and recognition for your research work, especially if you are not currently affiliated with a formal institution. It can also help in building professional networks and collaborations.
  2. Considerations for Honorary Affiliation:Research Collaboration: Institutions may be more willing to provide honorary affiliation if you are collaborating on research projects with their faculty members or researchers. Publication Contribution: If your post-PhD publications are significant and contribute to the field, institutions may consider offering honorary affiliation. Professional Standing: Your professional standing, experience, and expertise in the field may also play a role in securing honorary affiliation.
  3. Approaching Institutions:Contacting the Institution: Reach out to the institution or department where you wish to seek honorary affiliation. Explain your research interests, publications, and how your work aligns with their research focus. Proposal: Provide a proposal outlining the benefits of honorary affiliation for both parties, such as potential collaborations, knowledge exchange, and research impact.
  4. Negotiating Terms:Publication Acknowledgment: Institutions may require acknowledgment of their affiliation in your publications. Duration: Clarify the duration of the honorary affiliation and any specific terms or conditions associated with it. Expectations: Understand the expectations from both parties regarding research involvement, contributions, and use of institutional resources.
  5. Alternative Options:Research Networks: Joining research networks, associations, or societies related to your field can also provide opportunities for collaboration and recognition. Collaborative Research Centers: Consider collaborating with research centers or institutes that offer opportunities for affiliated researchers.
It's important to approach institutions with a clear proposal and demonstrate the value of your research contributions. While securing honorary affiliation may not always be guaranteed, it is worth exploring as it can enhance your research profile and opportunities for collaboration.

The journal should have the following features -
1) It must have score of 5 or more in the list of NAAS rated Journal (effective from 1st January, 2024). Journals with Impact factor (Thomson & Reuters) are preferable.
2) It should have little or no processing and/or publication fee. Many journals (mainly some foreign ones) remain out of reach for publication due to very high fees.
3) The journal should have a short response time regarding article processing, revisions, publication and others communications. Editorial board of some journals take months and months to respond after submission of a write-up and did not give reply to the e-mails on regular basis.
4) I did experiment on isolation & characterisation of potassium mobilizing bacteria from different soils and then tested their influence on soil system with (maize in pot culture) and without (incubation) crop plant based on studying potassium fractions after different time periods. I need suggestion of some journal names which are likely to publish this kind of researchs.

I am afraid that I have some bad news. There are virtually no journals that are AND open access AND free of cost (or low costs) AND publish rapidly.
However, the good news is:
-In almost all cases subscription-based journals are free of costs (in the case of hybrid journals you can decline the open access option)
-There are a (limited) number of open access journals that charge no APC, see for a good list here https://www.researchgate.net/post/Scientific_Journals_with_Open_Access_and_no_APC_free_charges_for_authors
-Short response can unfortunately not be guaranteed. In my experience it is in most cases caused by the inability of the journal to find reviewers. It will very much depend on your manuscript (and the exact scope and findings) whether the search for reviewers will be easy or not
Suggestions may be:
Turkish Journal of Agriculture and Forestry, open access, Scopus indexed, Impact Factor 2.9 (SCIE) https://journals.tubitak.gov.tr/agriculture/

Is utilizing Research Features Publication an effective method for broadening the reach of your research? I recently had a discussion with them, and it seems that there is a cost ranging from 2-3K associated with producing an article that incorporates multimedia elements and can potentially assist in reaching a broader audience. Has anyone here had experience with this service, and if so, what are your insights and opinions on it?
Relevant answer
Answer
Hello Dear
Yes, in my opinion, publication of research features can be an effective way to transfer research to a wider audience. This plays an important role in increasing the impact and recognition of researches. For example, the publication of construct validity and its detailed investigation, survey research and the use of research methods in communication have all been proposed as effective methods to increase the impact and recognition of research. On the other hand, exploratory research is also used as a key method to provide the foundation of research projects. These points show that the publication of research features can significantly improve the impact and recognition of research.

Hello colleagues! What sections of information security relate to classified data from the position of publication? And is there liability in your countries for their disclosures in publications?
Relevant answer
Answer
Various sections of information can be classified or declassified at any time, depends on countries' particular security requirements.
In many countries, there is legal liability for unauthorized disclosures of classified information. Such disclosures can have serious consequences, including criminal charges, fines, and imprisonment. The specifics of liability depend on the country’s legal framework, the nature of the disclosure, and the intent behind it. Individuals who publish classified information without proper authorization may face legal repercussions, especially if the disclosure harms national security or violates laws and regulations.
Remember that handling classified data requires strict adherence to guidelines, and any unauthorized disclosure can have significant legal and security implications.

___________
The real University, he said, has no specific location. It owns no property, pays no salaries and receives no material dues. The real University is a state of mind. It is that great heritage of rational thought that has been brought down to us through the centuries and which does not exist at any specific location. It's a state of mind which is regenerated throughout the centuries by a body of people who traditionally carry the title of professor, but even that title is not part of the real University. The real University is nothing less than the continuing body of reason itself. In addition to this state of mind, 'reason,' there's a legal entity which is unfortunately called by the same name but which is quite another thing. This is a nonprofit corporation, a branch of the state with a specific address. It owns property, is capable of paying salaries, of receiving money and of responding to legislative pressures in the process. But this second university, the legal corporation, cannot teach, does not generate new knowledge or evaluate ideas. It is not the real University at all. It is just a church building, the setting, the location at which conditions have been made favorable for the real church to exist.

Stay away from this journal, I see disturbing issues:
-According to https://www.scopus.com/sourceid/21101048271 they are discontinued in Scopus, while the indexing info claims they are https://tobreg.org/index.php/journal/index-citations
-The same is true for Clarivate’s ESCI, SCIE and SSCI (it was already strange to claim to be indexed in all three indexes, this is close to impossible), they are not indexed, you can check here https://mjl.clarivate.com/home
-They have a ridiculous and completely vague author fee policy https://tobreg.org/index.php/journal/author-fees
-Looking at for example https://tobreg.org/index.php/journal/issue/view/12 they publish papers fully out of scope of the journal
-I am unable to find decent contact info (physical address etc.) https://tobreg.org/index.php/journal/about/contact
It used to be a promising journal that started in 2015 but in 2021the journal was sold and after that it went downhill: https://blogs.bmj.com/tc/2021/08/03/where-theres-smoke-theres-fire-the-dumpster-fire-that-is-the-journal-tobacco-regulatory-science/

In fact, it was clearly understood by all parties that without a written agreement between all parties and the University, such an agreement was absolutely against University policy I am reporting this matter to University Council, University of CA Davis, for further exploration. Annie King, Professor, University of CA, Davis, CA 95616
Relevant answer
Answer
Dear Annie King You stumble on a fundamental point. Your paper is published in a subscription-based journal and therefor it is only accessible for those having a license or subscription (most of the time this is your university library).
ACS publishing is very strict in this.
Unfortunately they keep the copyright basically forever (even patents have a limited time of 'protection'). A notorious example is the famous Watson & Crick paper in Nature, published by another publisher, which is still not publicly available (although there are (illegal) copies available in Google Scholar.
RG experienced serious pressure from both ACS and Elsevier to follow the copyright rules these publishers impose (and lawfully are entitled to...).
Fortunately you can always share your own copy to those that request a copy of your paper, but you are (officially) not allowed to make it publicly available.
Best regards.

Answer
I think it depends on what is your pre-submission enquiry like. Is it very short or very long? If it is very short, they are more likely to respond. If it is a whole article, most editors are discouraged if it is too long like that because they might have lots of other work, unfortunately.
It also depends a lot on which journal and editor. Some will have time. Others might be too busy.

Is it ethical and copyrightable to post ebooks created by ChatGPT on the Internet that lack citation references and commonly plagiarize entire sentences, paragraphs, chapters from other publications taken by OpenAI from various websites?
Over the past few months, a number of offers of various consulting services, training courses and webinars have appeared on online social media, which initially offer the first trial lessons, webinars, training courses as part of a promotion for free and subsequent ones for a fee. Initially, ebooks are offered free of charge as part of the promotion, which are usually developed with the help of ChatGPT, are of poor content quality, usually containing only general, well-known, popular science knowledge, which can be found independently on the Internet on various websites. Besides, the ebooks created with the help of ChatGPT or other similar intelligent chatbots do not contain all the sources correctly listed. Besides, the resulting ebooks contain many passages, whole sentences, paragraphs taken from other publications that are not shown in the bibliography, and plagiarism thus occurs. In addition, in the field of expertise, there are factual errors and irrational, random, random, combined content from different sources, and thus inconsistent with the facts, ridiculous content and/or descriptions of "fictitious facts" occur. This is because much of the database that constitutes the sources of data and information for ChatGPT is factually outdated, as it dates from late 2021 or January 2022. It may happen that in the ChatGPT-generated text there may be some sensitive data of specific companies or public institutions, which found themselves there accidentally by being mistakenly entered into ChatGPT by an employee of a specific company or institution. In view of the above, there are still gaps in paragraphs in the legal norms defining the rules for the correct use of tools such as ChatGPT, and still the adaptation of legal norms to the rapidly developing technology is often done with too much delay. Besides, popular online social media even feature partly free and partly paid training courses and webinars, where Internet users learn how to create texts for articles, columns, essays, etc., as well as chapters for books, which can be published as ebooks, in a relatively easy way with the help of applications available on the Internet based on generative artificial intelligence technology. Besides, in addition to text, graphics, photos, drawings, etc., which are included in the texts of chapters in ebooks can also be generated semi-automatically in applications based on generative artificial intelligence technology. It also happens that during the aforementioned online trainings and webinars, access is sold to specially created websites that act as intermediary platforms, overlays that contain links to various AI-based web applications, which have been classified in a certain way on a specially created platform and, to make identification more difficult, the links are called by different names relative to the web applications to which they direct. In addition, many of these web-based applications based on generative AI technology are made available on the Internet on the original source sites free of charge. On the other hand, on intermediary platforms created by companies or sole proprietors that contain links referencing these applications, access is paid for and is often sold as part of so-called promotional offers during the conducted, aforementioned online training courses and webinars. Internet users usually learn about such online trainings and webinars from banners and advertising posts posted on popular online social media sites.
I described the key issues of opportunities and threats to the development of artificial intelligence technology in my article below:
OPPORTUNITIES AND THREATS TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE APPLICATIONS AND THE NEED FOR NORMATIVE REGULATION OF THIS DEVELOPMENT
In view of the above, I address the following question to the esteemed community of scientists and researchers:
Is it ethical and copyrightable to post on the Internet ebooks created by ChatGPT that lack citation references and commonly plagiarize entire sentences, paragraphs, chapters from other publications taken by OpenAI from various websites?
Is it ethical to post ebooks created by ChatGPT on the Internet that lack citation references and plagiarism commonly occurs?

Ethical questions nowadays are the most important ones especially concerning AI development. It is unethical to use a material without proper references and citations, and a plagiarism is still unacceptable. Authors and researchers who use AI to create an ebooks have to be critical to what was generated and add references manually if other ways do not work.

How should ChatGPT and other intelligent chatbots be used so that it is ethical, socially responsible and does not break copyright? How should intelligent chatbots that are generative language models be used, so that the texts and other types of works created by tools based on generative artificial intelligence are created fairly, in accordance with the ethics of writing articles, certain documents, photos, graphics, videos, etc., and in such a way that, by the way, within the framework of this type of "creation", copyright is not violated, so that all the necessary footnotes to texts, documents, photos, etc. are reliably shown. source, so that a bibliography with all properly shown sources, source materials, references to source documents, so that materials, articles, books, documents and other source studies are properly and reliably cited?
As chatbots equipped with generative artificial intelligence technology are finding more and more applications within the framework of supporting human creative work, so the level of relevance of discussions concerning the ethical aspects of the use of such tools in the creative production of certain works is also increasing. Since the release of ChatGPT in open access on the Internet, it is a rapidly growing application of this tool in the increasingly automated creation of various types of texts, which until now were written by humans and now for humans can be done by artificial intelligence technology, an intelligent chatbot based on a generative language model. Advanced generative language models are taught to produce various types of texts based on artificial neural network technology, which are taught specific "skills" through a process of deep learning on the basis of data and information from many online databases, online libraries, indexing databases of scientific papers, information portals containing millions of source texts, and are refined through ongoing discussions with millions of users on the Internet. At present, such intelligent chatbots based on advanced generative language models are already being made available on the Internet by almost all leading Internet technology companies, or are currently working on developing and improving such tools and will soon make them available in open access to Internet users. Such increasingly "intelligent" tools that develop various kinds of documents, texts, studies in an increasingly sophisticated way and carry out the "creative" process in an increasingly perfect way are finding a rapidly growing scale of new applications and are being used more and more widely by Internet users. However, on the other hand, in a situation where Internet users use such tools not only for casual discussions, for fun, for entertainment, and commission intelligent chatbots to develop an article, formalized document, photo, graphic, etc. intended for publication, for use in a thesis, in an analytical report on the analysis and evaluation of the functioning of certain real-world economic entities and institutions, etc., then certain problems of an ethical nature arise. then certain ethical problems arise in connection with the use by the said intelligent chatbots from texts, documents, photos, articles and scientific and other books available on the Internet, etc., without first asking the authors of these studies, works, etc. whether they allow the use of their works, works, studies that have been published on the Internet in advance. In addition to this, ethical problems are also related to the fact that the said intelligent chatbots, in the course of automated development of works, often still do not fully show footnotes to sources, on show a full bibliography in the specified standards for the development of bibliographic descriptions of texts and source materials. Besides, also during the discussions conducted by intelligent chatbots with Internet users, it is not obligatory for the company providing the chatbot to obtain consent from the Internet user for the use of his knowledge, his documents and studies, his works, which he will enter into the database system of the intelligent chatbot, which are then used to improve the discussions conducted on the part of the chatbot, and are used to provide answers, to perform commissioned works for subsequent other Internet users. Besides, what is particularly important, in a situation when an intelligent chatbot on the order of an Internet user develops a certain work, and if it even shows sources for data, shows materials, publications, articles, books, photos, other source materials in the footnotes, in the bibliography, then at the same time a request is not sent to the authors of the source works for the possibility of their use by the chatbot in the development of a certain commissioned work by another Internet user, and no consent is taken from the authors of the original sources of data, information, results of previously conducted research, analysis, etc. Besides, in connection with the fact that many of the above-mentioned issues are not regulated by law, so there is still no mandatory requirement for authors of studies created with the involvement of tools based on a certain generative artificial intelligence technology to demonstrate that the work or a part of it, a certain fragment was created with the use of a certain mentioned tool. Accordingly, studies, texts, photos created with the use of such intelligent tools may contain information that is inconsistent with the facts and can be and are used to generate disinformation on the Internet, mainly on social media websites. Therefore, there are various dangers, risks, serious dangers associated with the unauthorized, incompatible with ethical principles, without respect for copyright, creation of certain works through the use of generative artificial intelligence. Thus, it is necessary to properly regulate all the above-mentioned issues concerning the creation of various types of works using generative artificial intelligence. In addition to this, it is necessary to legally sanction the creation of a requirement to automatically mark the works created in this way that a particular study, text, article, document, photo, film, etc. was created using a particular intelligent tool. It is also necessary to systematically organize the collection of consent from the authors of various types of source works, previously written texts, articles, books, made studies, photos, films, whose authors are human creators for the use of their works in the automated creation of further studies and works but already realized by tools based on generative artificial intelligence.
In view of the above, I address the following question to the esteemed community of scientists and researchers:
How should ChatGPT and other intelligent chatbots be used so that it is ethical, socially responsible and does not violate copyrights? How should intelligent chatbots that are generative language models be used, so that the texts and other types of works created by tools based on generative artificial intelligence are created fairly, in accordance with the ethics of writing articles, certain documents, photos, graphics, videos, etc., and in such a way that, by the way, within the framework of this type of "creation", copyrights are not violated, so that all necessary footnotes to texts, documents, photos, etc., are reliably demonstrated. source, so that a bibliography with all properly shown sources, source materials, references to source documents is developed to the full extent, so that materials, articles, books, documents and other source studies are cited correctly and reliably?
How should ChatGPT be used so that it is ethical, socially responsible and does not violate copyrights?
And what is your opinion on this topic?
What is your opinion on this issue?

I invite everyone to join the discussion,
Thank you very much,

There is More to Reliable Chatbots than Providing Scientific References: The Case of ScopusAI
Scopus AI is an AI-driven research tool that uses the Scopus peer-reviewed research repository to help users understand and navigate unfamiliar academic content. The tool consists of a chatbot interface, which accepts prompts in natural language and provides several sentence-long answers with citations drawn from the Scopus database. Users can type a follow-up question or pick a suggested question from a list. Additionally, the tool creates a visualization of keywords, a functionality not rolled out fully at the time of writing this article...
Scopus provides a disclaimer about occasional “discrepancies, […] incorrect or potentially misleading information”. However, it is unrealistic to think that human vigilance alone can catch all such mistakes, especially when essential information is not exposed in the UI. Additionally, ScopusAI is positioned as a tool to help “navigate unfamiliar academic content”, and its target user base is “early-career academics and researchers working across different disciplines”. How could someone unfamiliar with the topic catch these sorts of mistakes without becoming an expert first?..."

For several years now, the procedure of granting a vote of confidence to the municipal executive by the legislative has been in force in Poland. It takes place annually and is not related to the budget implementation report but to the general state of the municipality. Are you aware of similar solutions in local governments of other countries?
Relevant answer
Answer
A vote of confidence every year? I think it is probably a good institution, but its side effect may be short-term behavior of municipal government. In other words, local government probably pursues short-term interests rather than long-term interests of the municipality.

Probably no one will award me a PhD by publication, HOWEVER, my work on ResearchGate is SO original that someone, to END SCIENTIFIC STAGNATION, should. The fact so many of my works BEGIN with metaphysics DEMONSTRATES ORIGINALITY. I am widening the otherwise narrow field of scientific research. References:

Alexander Ohnemus I would recommend getting some senior academics to review your work. The fact that you are passionate about your topic is a plus, however, is not equivalent to the quality. Also, please remember that the work would need to have some connection to be awarded the PhD.
I wish you the best luck in the pursue of your PhD.

All about article retraction in academic publishing
Retraction is removing an article from the scientific record at any point after its publication. Retraction is distinct from withdrawal, which occurs prior to publication. Also, in contrast to withdrawal, retractions are visible to the scientific community, as the original papers are typically preserved as part of the publication record.

A Columbia Surgeon’s Study Was Pulled. He Kept Publishing Flawed Data.
"The quiet withdrawal of a 2021 cancer study by Dr. Sam Yoon highlights scientific publishers’ lack of transparency around data problems...
Problems with the study were severe enough that its publisher, after finding that the paper violated ethics guidelines, formally withdrew it within a few months of its publication in 2021. The study was then wiped from the internet, leaving behind a barren web page that said nothing about the reasons for its removal..."

Dear Suchandra Ranjit Dutta It remains a mystery. All I can think of is to wait 24 hours (perhaps the 'system' needs to adjust). It would not surprise me if let's say Sunday you can go to your profile, click on research and scroll down (left side of the page) where it states "confirm your authorship" and/or try to add the paper again as indicated in the replies above (but first wait...).
Best regards.
PS. If it is not resolved let's say on Monday, try to contact RG team.

My first publication is listed in Research Gate as 1975 - this is incorrect. How do I search for this paper so I can edit/delete it?
Relevant answer
Answer
In https://www.researchgate.net/profile/John-Gillespie-Jr/publications you may sort your papers by time (oldest or newest first) or by title. There are about 30 publications for which the date and bibliographic details are missing. These appear first in the list when you sort by oldest. You may go through all 824 publications and edit the data, or you may search for titles of selected publications. Unfortunately, it is not possible to search for the year of publication. ResearchGate's search form is very simple, there is no advanced search. And rather often, the list of publications is not complete, but you may complete it "by hand". Some of the missing publications may be in ResearchGate, but not yet attached to your profile. You may search for these with https://www.researchgate.net/search.Search.html?query=&type=publication. Have a look also into https://www.researchgate.net/profile/John-Gillespie-Jr/unconfirmed (visible only for you.

I completed the experiment for one of our colaborators (I measured inhibition of an enzyme by 3 compounds). Unfortunatelly compounds were not active in the range of dilutions that I had used (up to 10 micromol). Higher concentrations caused the paradoxically high signal due to (probably) interactions with the detection reagent. Therefore concentrations higher than 10 micromol were excluded and, in the end, I could not observe the full dose-dependent curves (and did not calculate IC50). If it was my publication I would left the results like this with the explanation why higher concentrations were not included. But the colaborator asked If I could "complete the curve" on the graph for one of the compounds. I would rather not do that but I consulted one of my supervisors and added dotted line in place where could be the curve (the highest concentration of compound reached ~ 50% of the maximal inhibition, rest of the curve was predicted by the program). I though, that the request was made just to make graph more pleasant to the eye. But later the same collaborator made another request - to calculate IC50 from that curve (where half was from the experiment and half was "predicted" by the program with the assumption that the compound will reach 100% of inhibition - which is not certain). The collaborator also asked to "complete" another curve (where experimental data reached only 25% of the maximal inhibition).
If it was my publication I would never do that. I do not want to suggest that I tested concentrations that I did not test and I do not want to suggest that the compounds were able to fully inhibit enzyme (which I did not prove). Also I do not want to create "artificial IC50" which could be used to compare the compound with different compounds creating false conclusions. But maybe I am wrong? Therefeore I want to ask:
Is it correct practice to "complete the curve" (to elongate the curve to reach 100% of expected effect) even if you did not test higher concentrations (because higher concentrations were to high for the assay). Is it correct to calculate IC50 from that kind of curve?

Answer
Robert Adolf Brinzer is right. 15-85 is the part of the sigmoid curve that most resembles a straight line. We can't quantitate reliably outside that region of a calibration curve.
Although we may "predict" results, we must never fabricate data. You might try to publish a curve with points indicating your data and dotted lines suggesting how you think the system may behave at other concentrations. You might get that published in a predatory journal.
